My experience at Summer Palace was beyond disappointing. Not only was the food below standard, but the owner Charan Singh's behavior was unacceptable, as he took the mic and yelled at my guests and mishandled situations. There were overcharges made the night before the event and yet services paid for were not provided. Additionally, the bartenders failed to enforce age restrictions, only to complain later, the servers were unprofessional, bumping into guests, eating while serving and grabbing food without gloves. The unhygienic state of the kitchen is concerning, reflecting poorly on the venue's standards.
Not only that, Summer Palace claim of being 'all-inclusive' turned out to be a sham, as crucial services like DJ, photography, decoration, security, and bartenders were suddenly excluded at the last minute, despite previous assurances. This forced us to pay out of pocket for services we were led to believe were included. His DJ, failed to deliver on his reputation, playing outdated songs and mishandling key moments of the event. His exorbitant fee of $1500 was not justified by his lackluster performance (we were not allowed to use a different DJ because it was "all inclusive")
Aa a bride, I expected my big day to be filled with joy, but my experience at Summer Palace was nothing short of stressful. Despite clear instructions, decorations were not executed as requested, and the Photo Booth, a highlight for many, was disappointingly marked closed for a significant portion of the party. The lack of security measures is deeply concerning, as our gift box was tampered with during the event. This level of incompetence and disregard for the client's wishes is utterly unacceptable.
Thankfully, our own photographer and videographer provided a silver lining to an otherwise disastrous occasion. I cannot emphasize enough how deeply unsatisfied I am with the misleading practices and subpar service. Overall, a thoroughly unpleasant experience. I strongly advise against trusting this venue with such an important occasion. Behind the scenes, the owner Charan singh and his wife employed manipulative tactics to secure our contract, including offering free food, sugar-coating deals, and promising discounts on future events. However, when it came time to formalize the agreement, he failed to provide a copy of the contract as promised. Despite our demands, we were met with excuses and delays, with the owner's wife suggesting we 'stop by any day' to collect it. This lack of transparency and accountability reflects poorly on the integrity of the establishment.
It is evident that Singh lacks integrity. Instead of addressing shortcomings within his own establishment, he chooses to denigrate competitors and fellow professionals in the industry. This speaks volumes about his character and the toxic environment he fosters. Potential clients should be wary of such underhanded tactics and seek out venues with a commitment to honesty and professionalism.
Whatâs worse is that now he is threatening/harassing our families and wanting us to remove our review. How about refunding what was charged last minute? Or returning our special moments...
Read moreI was invited to an anniversary party at Summer Palace on 07/17/2021. The hall is elegant and amazing. You can tell the hall was made with precise details. Service and food is amazing. The owners accommodated us with all our needs as guest. I WILL HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HALL TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR A PERFECT PLACE TO HOLD AN EVENT. Now reply to Mr Josh Kumar. Mr Josh Kumar , firstly been in this family for years never knew we had a Josh Kumar . So here is my 2 cents to you . Please entertain this . Firstly my parents have taught me and my brothers if you have nothing nice to say , donât say it at all unless you know the full truth and story . Truth is 3 sides actually . One your version , one version we saw and one that actually happened as none of us were there every second of the way. Maybe your parents didnât give you that lesson . Not your fault and your apology is accepted . 2nd , if you are not invited to a function , as kids and adults we were taught not to crash a party for free food and alcohol . Now apology accepted maybe you werenât given the same teaching as rest of us . Thirdly , the hall owners like rest of the independent contractors are just trying to make an honest living by providing best service they can . Now I was taught donât criticize that instead help them to grow . In this world we are to help each other to grow . Not put someone down who is making an effort . Your apology is accepted that , same teaching wasnât given to you while growing up . Lastly , if you were truly part of this beautiful event as guest invited were family and friends than you would have United the family , knowing how much effort , time and Money the daughters had spend to celebrate the joyous occasion for they parents and you and likes of you almost ruined it . Your apology is accepted that you werenât given that teaching as you were growing up . One free teaching is : United we stand and divided we fall . If you canât unite please donât crash parties and divide the families . Next time tell us we will happily drop off free alcohol and food if you and likes of you canât afford it . Have a blessed day and may Almighty give you guidance...
Read moreAnyone who decides to hold a venue here has to be out of their god dam mind. When considering venues for any event, be it a wedding, corporate gathering, or celebration, the ambiance and service provided by the venue play a crucial role in the overall experience. Unfortunately, the Summer Palace falls drastically short in this regard, primarily due to the overbearing and intrusive behavior of its owner, which significantly detracts from any event hosted there.
One of the most egregious issues with the Summer Palace is the owner's propensity to interject himself into the proceedings of the event. Whether it be a wedding toast, a corporate presentation, or a simple gathering of friends, the owner seems incapable of resisting the urge to seize the microphone and impose his presence upon the attendees. This not only disrupts the flow of the event but also undermines the purpose of the gathering, shifting the focus away from the intended program and onto the owner's self-indulgent ramblings.
If you're considering dining at Summer Palace, be forewarned: what you see isn't always what you get. Despite promising to handle certain expenses, the owner, Charon Singh, conveniently forgets his commitments once the contract is signed, leaving customers to foot the bill. Like we had to pay the dj and the video photographer even tho in the âcontract by words of agreementâ he said it will be covered.
Adding insult to injury, Charon Singh's intimidation tactics, employing a security guard to belittle and intimidate dissatisfied customers, only further solidify the shady practices rampant at Summer Palace.
For those seeking an enjoyable dining experience devoid of deceit and subpar offerings, it's best to steer clear of Summer Palace and its dubious owner. Your taste buds and wallet...
