Rivers Edge was such a departure from the standard tasting room experience. Colin rolled out the welcome mat for us when we walked in and took us through the tasting while working with us at the level we're at (hint:we're far from wine experts). I know he could have drowned us in details- they guy obviously knew his wine. Instead though, we all focused on having a great damn time while we sipped our way through tasting.
I mean, at the end of the day, a tasting is all about (hopefully) finding a wine you love. We walked out of Rivers Edge with two cases of different Pinots. There are going to be a lot of happy friends and family when they get their Christmas...
Read moreI stopped here in the midst of a long day of motorcycle travel. I caught Vonnie in the tasting/wine making room an hour before closing. She poured a taste of everything, the last being their Baco Noir. All the wines were very credible-- I was surprised at the quality of the winemaking. I was only faintly aware of Baco Noir. It was delicious. I bought a bottle and when I got home I shared it with friends, all were impressed. The visit and tasting with Vonnie was a treat and an experience I'll remember. We like side trips and we like wine so we decided to stop in River’s Edge Winery on the corner of River Dr and Hwy 38. We are glad that we did. Colin Dudley did a great job of educating us on the wine and telling the story of the winery. All the wines that we tasted were excellent. We like trying unique varietals and we bought a couple bottles of their 2016 Baco Noir. We tasted the wine about week later and regret not buying more. We visited two other wineries that day and it reminded me of Sonoma County ...
