While everything online said this hike was less than a mile, I definitely don't think it was. We walked for quite a long time and had time constraints (we were the models at a photography retreat--see captions for photo credit! If the captions didn't save, the photographers in no particular order are: Picturesque by Mandie, Captured by Alyssa Jade, and Love Uncharted) so ended up stopping at a waterfall (I believe before Silver Falls) to take photos before we ran out of time.
The hike there was actually really pretty. We stopped on a large log to get some photos and it almost looked like we were in the Redwood Forest! We also stopped on a cute little bridge that had skunk cabbage on each side to get a few photos as well. Read moreBeautiful overlook from the bridge just South of the falls, this location is worth the hike from the campgrounds at Ohanapecosh, especially since that hike isn't much of a challenge and pretty, too. Probably busy any time of day during peak season, the falls is big one, a short distance from a more accessible parking lot just North of it, and likely to be peppered with thrill seekers looking to test their latest TikTok challenge on the rocks just in front of the falls, ruining your view in the process. Go early before social media wakes up and you're probably going to capture its...
Read moreWhile visiting Mount Rainer we decided to drive over and hike to Silver Falls. It was in June and the snow melt made the falls spectacular. It is well worth the 1.2 mile hike to visit. There are two ways to access the falls. And it’s easily accessible. A very short trail leads to it from SR 123. But the best way to experience this cascading spectacle on the Ohanapecosh River is by hiking to it on a loop from the Ohanapecosh Visitors Center. En route, you’ll pass the site of an old hot springs resort, some big old trees, an overhanging mossy ledge, and perhaps a...
