Gotta be honest here. My husband and I visited this establishment on our Route 66 trip, and the entire encounter made me feel really freaked out. Harley wouldn't give us a clear answer about whether or not he was open when we arrived, telling us that he was texting some woman and to wait.....saying something about how he would only go to a dance to pick up hot women.
Inside, I felt uncomfortable overall. He told us we could look at anything, that he was going to smoke a joint. I personally don't care about that at all, but his vibe in general felt vaguely menacing to me, and I was guarded the entire time and couldn't get out of there fast enough. Before we left, he made a weird comment to me that felt very inappropriate, and my husband and I agreed that the experience was right on the edge of frightening.
A day or so later, at the Midpont Cafe, we ran into a family who shared our sentiments about Harley. They reported that they had seen him put his arm around an Italian woman who was visiting and saying, "I bet you're good in bed!"

Read moreWe heard such amazing reviews about this place. Sadly, after his wife's passing he hasn't done well. My husband and I went there today and another out of the country group was there as well. Harley was nothing but rude, insulting, threatening, and belligerent. He was clearly beyond drunk with open bottles all over the place. He kept using ethnic slurrs towards us and the other group. Then demanded us all to tip him after he sang a song where he even used those slurrs towards us and them in it. The other group practically ran out the door and he went after my husband and I when we went to our van. He screamed at us so loud for no reason people across the street heard. The sweet lady who worked across the street came to us and profusely apologized on behalf of the town and explained he has bad days like this. I understand he lost his wife, and that's something no one gets over, but this was the most threatening and uncomfortable experience my husband and I have ever had and we live in our van and...
