We love it here! It’s easy to go to and we just pack a cooler, a pop-up tent, a table top grill some food and make a day out of it and do some fishing. It only cost five dollars to get in if you just wanna go relax out in nature Walk around have a picnic just hang out. If you want to fish, it’s 10 for adults and seven for children so it’s reasonable. We haven’t had much luck with the fish lately, so I’m not sure how often they stock but that’s the only thing that I would say is a bit frustrating because we haven’t caught much the last few times we’ve gone and neither have all the people around us. Dixon Lake is settled in the mountains, and people fish, and picnic, because there are shelves along the winding road around the lake, so you are very private in your own space. There is a dock to fish off of. The smell of pines, that make it cool, and shady, an they have hiking trails, if you like to hike. They have boats to rent, and temporary fishing licenses you can purchase. You can stay overnight in certain camp sites, but you must reserve them. Also bathrooms and showers are available. Read moreDixon Lake is a great place to go camping if you want to escape the city for a night, but don't have time to travel anywhere far. The rangers and staff are very friendly and respectful. They are continually patrolling to ensure rules are being followed as well as for safety, but they are never infringing. The views are great from many of the spots and they have group cites as well. The fee was around $20-30 for the night. I don't recall if they had showers but the restrooms were well maintained. No campfires (coal only), and no amplified speakers are allowed.
