This is a public, free horse arena for anyone to use! There are no restrooms here for humans, so go before you come! You can pull up any size trailer in the large dirt parking lot, and walk your horse on it! It is open from sunrise to sunset, although I am here at sunset and don't see anyone coming to lock it. There are no lights, so it will be pitch black at night, and be warned there are TONS of coyotesat night in this area. The arena is also overgrown with weeds and plants in the middle and on one end, but it is still usable; definitely worth it if you don't own an arena of your own. There is also a Caballo Trail next to the arena, and the Humane Society of Escondido.

**Here’s a 5-star review for Caballo State Park:** Caballo State Park is an absolute gem! The stunning lake views, serene hiking trails, and abundant wildlife make it a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. Didn't make it to Stanley Peak but I will be back.

The only place in Escondido with black diamond rated DH. If you start here you can go up the black diamond to start then end the ride coming down it. Bring water as this place Gets really hot.

Great laid back park where it's the busiest in the mornings with riders and hikers but most of the time very quiet at times for a park . It's a very basic park with not too many things to do other than hike or ride or just kick back and enjoy the peaceful solitude.. it needs to have water somewhere around there so bring your own if your staying awhile cuz...
