UPDATE: • ALL EVERETT PARKS ARE NOW OPEN 6am-DUSK (per city ordinance passed in 2020)Any other mention of hours in Maps or anything else is/ are incorrect. Parks which used to be open until 10pm are now closed at dark. • ALL RESTROOMS WITHIN EVERETT PARKS ARE CLOSED & LOCKED DURING THE PANDEMIC. Need a restroom? Drive to a Marysville, Park. • There is a public outhouse located at the entrance to county & state owned land maintained by the county located just past the green bridge leading to these parks on Smith Island. • There are 3 jurisdictions which own different parks within this park area. Maps along the trail DO NOT CLEARLY identify which are which & that can lead to breaking rules in one area allowed in another. Everett Parks has no jurisdiction on the county or state owned parks, but will still police them. • DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED ANYWHERE ON PARK LAND OWNED BY THE COUNTY OR STATE. Both are wildlife refuges & dogs are known to kill some of the wildlife protected. Dogs are ok on the City side. If the trail is paved its city, if not it is county or state. • HUNTING is allowed on state owned land within this park area but not in county or city. The state recently built a parking area on the far north just across the only overpass over I-5 open during hunting season. Hours are dawn-dusk, just like the city. They also own a small parking lot on the south side which is sketchy at best & sits within the city sewage treatment area.
I've been coming to this park for over 20 years now & despite being next to I-5 & the sewer plant for Everett & Marysville it also adjoins a county park & state wildlife refuge. Hunting is allowed on the state owned side, not anywhere else. So don't be surprised if during season you run into hunters dressed in camo, holding rifles along with city slickers dressed in spandex taking family for a bike ride. It's that diverse. The main park (across the Animal Shelter) do have restrooms with flushing toilets, fresh water, but turned off the water heater so cold water only. It has a boat launch, covered bbq area, park benches, picnic tables, & trail which leads to the county & state owned sides. It is well maintained. This is the only city park where one must drive or bike some distance just to get to. So you won't find homeless transients who normally walk or bike short distances. But once there, the 3 parks are a short distance from another. Do not leave valuables in car. Use common sense security. But trust me, the difficulty of getting to this park makes it safer than most but that sadly can also contribute to crime. Talk to a park ranger if u have questions. They are there to help, protect, & like any in those kind of jobs will peep to see what you are up to. Just wave as a sign you are fine & they are...
Read moreThis park is more of a walking trail with green belt than a ball park. It is very scenic being on the water, and all sorts of wildlife are here from, eagles "great bird watching" to marine mammals. Path is approximately 5k if you do the whole loop. Part of the path is gravel roadish so probably no rollerblading or skateboarding during that section, but wheelchairs could probably navigate successfully. There is a boat launch, and area with barbecues with some shade and a bathroom but not much else. Couple drawbacks there's no real open space to play sports and the path is going around the water treatment facility and at times that can be pretty fragrant, so part of the path about 1k can be holding your breath and walking quickly at certain times of the day or year I don't know, sometimes it's fine and others yuck! Anyway hope this helps and if you go, I...
Read moreA very unique and scenic park with a boat launch, fishing dock, and undercover picnic area. The entrance by the boat launch has a public restroom for park patrons, and that is just the amenities. The park itself is a long trail. It takes you parallel with the river all the way to the bridge entrance to Spencer Park which is kind of a wetlands/ swamp/ inlet from the ocean which has more trails to go on hikes that are not paved and offer amazing views of the nature in the area. This is one of my favorite parks and is an awesome spot to ride a one-wheel EV skateboard. I highly recommend this park for multiple uses. You just can't beat the...
