Elephant Seal Overlook — Attraction in Fairfax

Quite an easily approachable beautiful spot to visit on a sunny weekday morning.

Park at Chimney Rock Trailhead parking and walk for 5 mins till the view point. We visited on a Monday morning and there was no one around.

Beautiful, lots to see and hear of natural beauty. Short hike from parking, which was good since it was raining during both of our visits. There is a restroom at the trail head. Winding one lane road for a short bit to get to the parking area but all worth it to see the Elephant Seal pups all over, some swimming, some playing, and a ton just sleeping. There were at least 20-30 seals when I went yesterday 9-8-22 which is why I am giving it 4 stars. But after having already been to Año Nuevo State Park, it was a let down. I brought binoculars so I was able to see the seals with those pretty good. I'd recommend bringing binoculars because this overlook is very far away from the elephant seals and there are no...
