Read moreToday was my first time ever visiting Marsh Park. I was born in Hamilton only because my Mommy was up here visiting her family when she went into labor. We lived in Kentucky until 1990/1991 can't recall what year. We lived in Hamilton. Went through a divorce and moved to Fairfield to be closer to my parents after living in Trenton for almost 13 years. Still hadn't been to the park and my Aunt and her family live right around the corner. Today I was on my way home from dropping off my niece and took the back way home to stop at my brother's and I thought you know what...I've never once been to Marsh Park and I'm 43 now. This past week has been on the go go and ran all weekend doing fall activities and the Zoo. I think I'm going to pull in and check it out. There were a few professional kayakers a son and his father fishing for the 1st time and he was 36. It was sweet watching them bond and learn together. I sat and admired how beautiful it was, how peaceful the park was. The weather was perfect today, the breeze felt amazing and the sun was setting. It was just what I needed to wind down my blessed, amazing and fun weekend with my...
Read moreThis lake has tons of potential. But currently it's definitely not living up to it.
First problem is stocking the lake. I dont think they have for a couple years. When they did, in comparison, Lake Isabela stocks up with probably 4times what Marsh did/does. Yet Marsh is 8 times the size of Isabela.
Secon, this Lake is very sizeable! But there is hardly any shoreline to fish from. The vegetation and overgrowth due to lack of maintenance has left this Lake with almost no shoreline to fish from.
I really wish the city would take better care of this lake! It has the potential to be a really nice spot. Geck, it was better when it was just a gravel pit compared to what it is now.
You can bring a Kayak or Canoe. But you can't rent one... they have a "Boat House" but no boats. Just call it what it is, a bait shop.
The place is pretty much fished out. City of Fairfield, please give some attention...
