Hostas on the Bluff — Attraction in Fairview Heights

I've driven by this place so many times without realizing what it was. A great hidden gem of a nursery. You have to call to make a viewing appointment, or wait for one of their seasonal open houses. A phenomenal selection of hosta varieties are available to view on grounds in their gardens, most clearly labeled. The young teenage employees are not very helpful, but they are friendly and know who to go to for answers and to help clients. The older gardeners are very knowledgeable and even know the genetic history and similarities between varieties. They were able to answer any questions I had, including ploidy on slow growing hostas, what thrives where, etc. Great shopping experience with very healthy plants. I'll be coming...

My review is different than others because I do not have the luxury of visiting this place. I ordered my Hosta's online. I have frequently ordered live plants online and have gotten a variety of results as far as quality is concerned. My Hosta's arrived very neatly wrapped up and so very beautiful and healthy! I was quite surprised at the amount of green leaf foliage that was shipped. Day two of being in the ground and new shoots are already bursting forth. I was very happy that with such a huge variety, I was able to find Hosta's that LSU ag center said would survive in Louisiana. Great...

It was an Amazing experience! They have so many plants for sale & are very reasonable! The staff is friendly & very helpful! Lots of Beautiful plants decorate their landscape. It's an Awesome site to behold! Heads-up you definitely need your GPS to find it. You can actually see the St. Louis Arch & landscape from the Hostas on the Bluff. It's a very peaceful place to go.
