Enjoyed Veteran's Memorial Park on a crisp fall afternoon. The leaves were changing color and dropping. It was curiously quiet as we were the only ones there. A group of vultures were perched on the side of the lake. They scattered as we approached but seemed more interested in something in the forest. You can walk around the lake on a small trail and they have couple's swings and picnic tables. I also saw a public chalk board. I didn't see anything else to do here. Not that it is needed. Overall, a nice park but somewhat secluded and a bit limited. I recommend bringing lots of people for a picnic but not a few for a walk.

Today was a much better day for me even with the rain. I found this beautiful Memorial park nestled in near a small neighborhood near I-40. This park has a trail that encompasses the pond. It has a wooden bridge to look over a creek and park benches spaced around to take a break. There’s plenty of parking for mid sized to small RVs. The larger rigs would be a little tight but doable. There are no facilities but the cell signal is fair.

My grandsons and I had a great time here . Used live bait. No keepers (small) but a great day building memories. God Blessed us here.

This is probably the worst public lake I have ever been fishing in. Only about 10 to 15 percent of the banks are even accessible due to high banks and even higher grass. Trash thrown everywhere along bank. Can't reel hook in without bringing in 5lbs of grass. #Fescuefishing. My...
