A horrible experience, I took my mother here who is 80 years old , she wanted to get barbecue for the family outing, however after we started looking , we realized they took big advantage of her , they packed everything in bag so we did not even look at it until we reached our destination 70 miles away,We went to Alexandria, Tennessee for a family cookout picnic , the barbecue was subpar, the ribs, which was added on , $28 for a full rack, when we open the aluminum foil, they were literally black, and they look like they were cooked a week ago, When ordering she added on a half pound of pulled pork which when we opened it, it looked like it would maybe make one good sandwich. When she told me the price I told her that could not be right, all that was ordered was a pulled pork pack added 1/2 pound of chopped brisket and a full rack of baby bag ribs the subtotal come to $79.47, to our surprise they took it upon themselves to add on a $17.44 tip, I have no idea what this tip is for, when I was asking her about the tip, she did not even know that she left a tip there, she said she never mentioned anything about a tip they put that on themselves, it is wrong to take advantage of an elderly woman and jacked the price up like that, it was already way too expensive and not near enough food to feed Four people, we went into Alexandria and bought some more fried chicken so we could at least have a complete meal, make sure when dealing with this place that you check your receipt when they give it to you. We did not check it until we were 70 miles away And arriving at the family function, this was just wrong, but as stated the barbecue brisket and pork was OK. I would call it subpar, but the so-called full slab of ribs was a joke, I have never seen ribs that were black as coal and dry And virtually un edible. I do not think anybody even ate them. Never again will we go...
Read moreI tried Whiskey Fire for the first time this last Saturday, in lieu of the BBQ Church closing R.I.P. Carl's Perfect Pig I needed a new BBQ spot. Me and the family got two BBQ sandwiches, a full rack of ribs, couple of the pork belly skewers and a large side of Mac n Cheese. Sandwiches were juicy, the coleslaw very clean and crisp with a light mildly sweet dressing, strong crisp pickles and you could taste the quality of the butter they toasted those pillow like buns with. The Potato salad caught me off at first, resembling some thing more like cold mash Until I realized the lack of mustard. It is good with very nice flavor just not southern style. the pork belly skewers were by far a pleasant surprise, think Bacon pop sickle......I shouldn't have to explain this further. the Ribs man.... the Ribs were very tender and every swing of it's flavor bat was a home run. heavily seasoned pairing perfectly with their hot and spicy BBQ sauce. Lastly the mac, simple, creamy, cheesy and perfectly al dente pasta that slams you straight back to mom and dads house sitting at the family table, it's perfect. With that being said, my only complaints are as follows and with all due respect to the ones that were kind enough to prepare this delicious meal for me and mine:: the ribs were the slightest touch dry and when beginning to use the BBQ sauce I had realized it was ice cold almost off puting but a few seconds in the nuker solved that.
Would highly...
Read moreHave passed this place for a few yrs and wondered what they had. With the 20% tip question was $14 & change for brisket sandwich. Came with the bun with brisket on it and a side container for sauce.
Meat was bland. Tasted like it had been baked low and slow and not smoked low and slow. Bun didn’t hold the meat, had to put all the meat back on with my hand after grabbing it and it all slid out of the bun.
Sauce was like a mix of maybe ketchup, mayo with a hint of bbq but it didn’t fit with the meat.
Over all first experience id have better meat in the oven out of a chuck roast low and slow and get more for my money with better flavor. Disappointed but also from Texas and it’s hard finding decent bbq here in...
