We stayed at this park on a Sunday evening while passing through. It is a beautiful park with so much to do as far as walking, hiking, fishing, play ground for the kids, volleyball picnic areas or just sitting by the river. Our only issue we encountered was where they put us. We were right by the freeway and to say the least it was very very very noisy. We have a 42 foot 5th wheel and they had us in the upper portion of the campground or section A. We were on a culdasac and the gal told us my husband would probably have to back all the way to our sight. Easily done but a pain if you have 3 others checking in at the same time and them allowing people to check out late. The sights are very close together and was tight to leave your truck with your trailer. But we were just again passing through so we went out and done our big grocery shopping so we weren't there but long enough to unhook, come back from shopping, eat a meal, and go to bed. We would stay there again if we could get a different spot as it is very pretty. But not on the upper camp ground. The lower camp ground there were a lot of people in other reviews that stated that they sights were not level and went towards the river. We seen a few but not many... Overall it is a nice place and we would stay again with a different sight. We camped at Lindenwood Park in a...
Read moreTake it from someone who has spent countless hours in Lindenwood Park, it is the gem of the Fargo Park District. Unlike other parks in the community, Lindenwood has the advantage of square acreage which provides a rich diversity of small ecological niches; one more different or distinct from the next.
The two campgrounds are outdated, but may (as I understand it) receive a remodel in the near future. The two large shelters and three small shelters provide more than adequate options to escape the hot sun of summer or the cool rain of spring or fall.
The park has had bike rental for awhile, but has recently added the new option of kayak rentals.
To those who have avoided this warm and loving park because of rumors of 'bad actors' inhabiting the space, let me assure you, I saw very little of this in my extensive time spent here. There are the occasional homeless person in the park, as well as, the random speaker enthusiast who visits; but no more than what is represented in the general population at large.
Some of you may have noticed the lack of a perfect score and my rationale is that all public services/utilities/etc will never be absolutely perfect in their function. However, they will always be a perfect reflection of the values exhibited by the community for...
