This place is a treasure trove, was so glad to discover it in this part of Alabama. It's more than a museum, it's an artist's den! Glenda Robertson, the Director of the Civic Center which houses the museum is a wonderfully gracious, knowledgeable host who knows all about the featured artists. Over 3,700 pieces in their collection, with two auditoriums, featuring gifted artists' exhibits such as Lois Wilson & Jimmy Lee Sudduth, among others. Sudduth's work is in the Smithsonian, and Lois Wilson has a prize-winning documentary on her legacy, Treasures from the Rubble. National Geographic recognized this museum as a regional attraction.
