Lots of parking but does fill up on busy days. There is a playground here that is COVERED/shaded which is nice. Two boardwalks out to the sand. If you use parking near/right off the stop light, you don’t need a boardwalk - can go straight out to sand next to the Sand Bar. There are rinsing stations right by where the borrow a beach toy stand is (pictured) which is also right across from the playground. There are some picnic tables down the way towards the other boardwalk out and a big “grassy” area off that direction too. Nice beach area. Not usually quite as packed as Point Peter (the one down by the resort hotels opposite end of the oceanfront road) Would be nice to see more shade over the boardwalk and non-beach areas. Especially on days like today that was triple-digit heat index. I literately got blisters on my toes...

Ok I have to be honest.. I am from Brevard county but come up to Amelia/ Fernandina as often as I can. I ALWAYS park at North Beach park but for some reason I stopped here today and I loved it. I'm a very private person so I usually like to walk the beach where there's not a lot of people and even though there were a lot more people here it was still very spread out. I liked having a bathroom nearby and I also enjoyed having food right there. I am a creature of habit and I always go to Al's Fried Chicken and I've been to you the Mexican supermarket which is excellent by the way but having everything so class was awesome and I'll definitely be coming back plus I was told the further south you do the less sharks teeth you'll find and I found just as many if not more here...

The park itself is beautiful. The bathrooms are clean. There are outdoor showers. Beach access is easy even for toddlers and some handicap. But... Getting into the water here isn't recommended for most people. The rip tide/undertoe is very strong at this location. It will sweep you off your feet before you realize it. I would definitely not bring children here to get into the water. There are far safer beach options that are not far away. Little Talbot and Hugenaut Parks for example are calmer waters IMHO. Also those Parks are better shell and sharks teeth spots. If you're looking for bigger waves. To sunbathe or just to stroll on the beach. This is a great spot. I would take my kids somewhere else if you're thinking about getting...

It is a nice beach. The water is clean and somewhat clear near the shore, but does darken the further you go into the water. Be aware that there is quite a drop off just a few feet into the water. It is also wise to wear water shoes on the sand and in the water, as the amount of shells broken and unbroken is abundant. I was hoping to find some shark teeth but alas it was a bust. However, many other beachgoers did find some. At the time we went there were a lot of dead cannonball jellyfish washing ashore but I was informed this was normal for the season. Overall, a typical and clean beach for everyone.
