We planned our visit for a Saturday for the scenic Gondola ride. I purchased the tickets online and it was fast and easy. $32 each
The day came to be and we arrived during the 10am - 1pm time slot we had reserved. Parking was plenty but the lot was starting to get full quickly. We parked, went inside, up the stairs, stepped outside, when bam we were hit with the sign that said " DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER THE LIFT IS TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED." Oh no, we had driven from PHX for this and now it was a maybe if we would even get to go up.
We decided to sit at the bar and order some hot chocolate and an Angry Orchard. The bartender was sooo friendly and attentive. She helped us out right away and at this point it was raining cats and dogs. We decided to just wait it out and eat. We ordered a mushroom burger with fries and it came out right when the downpour had stopped.
The burger was really good. It was cooked well and was very flavorful. The fries were our favorite as they were hot and crispy. My hot chocolate was delicious. It was perfectly sweet, hot, and the marshmallows were the cherry on top.
My sister bought herself a hoodie from the gift shop and the worker there was also very friendly. They had a selection of winter attire, boots, accessories, and cute souvenirs at reasonable prices.
The Gondola ride finally opened up after the down pour and we made it on up. The ride was quick but the views were beautiful. We got off at the top and walked around a few minutes. It was pretty cold and foggy up there so we couldn't really look out. There is a bathroom located at the top and there are benches / tables set up.
Overall we had a good time. I've never skied here before but this adventure was a lot of fun...
Read moreThis was by far the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced.
First, we did not receive a confirmation email. Luckily we took a screenshot of our confirmation number.
We booked a trip during the late summer for the scenic sunset gondola ride.
One of the members of our party was injured on the trip and unable to make the Gondola ride. To see what our options were to modify the reservation, we tried calling during their call center hours. The automated message said the team was busy, completely understandable. We were directed to email customer service, which we did. After the team responded and told us we could not be refunded for the additional ticket, they said we would be able to use the price of the ticket for resort credit. When we arrived to the gift shop, the cashier told us that was NOT possible.
Communication was extremely poor at best. We had additional questions which were not in the FAQ and emailed them numerous times, with no response leading up to our reservation.
The Snowbowl team did eventually email us back, but not until 24 hours after our gondola ride, saying we COULD use the resort credit. However, we are no longer in the area and unable to redeem the credit.
The attendant at Snowbowl was very helpful and assured he would relay our frustration to the customer service team.
The actual gondola ride was okay, but pretty underwhelming.
Would not book again. From what I’ve read on other sources on the internet, this is consistent with many other customers’ experiences. Save your money and book a UTV ride up to Bill...
Read moreWe stopped by on our way back to California. The reviews on this attraction were high so we wanted to see for ourselves.
The drive up to the gondola was very pleasant with a lot of aspens in golden color. Once at the gondola station, we found ourselves in a long line that rivaled a Black Friday sale. We waited, waited and then waited some more before we were allowed into a gondola for a short ride to the top, where the black diamond slopes were located. The view was nice, but it really can’t compete with our last fall gondola ride, which was at the White Mountain in Vermont. The views were nice, but certainly were not impressive. At the top, there weren’t too much space and not much to do. A short climb will take you to the highest allowable point for hikers/non-skiers. .
The cost for two was more than $160 (with $20 food or gift shop credit). I was told that it used dynamic pricing similar to air fares, where the cost goes up when more people are showing interests. If only I knew what you get for the entrance fee, then I would have just turned back and enjoy the views along the drive back to the freeway. If you still think it’s worth the price, then try to book your tickets online. The young lady st the ticketing told me that’s where the prices are...
