Great fishing and beautiful views greeted us at Mercer Lake. The public boat launch was a bit difficult to find. There are 2 roads that partially circle the lake. We picked the wrong road the first time and it doesn't connect to public launch. This public concrete ramp is short and really drops off at the end, so if you launch your boat here, be forewarned. Once we got in the water, things really picked up.
I caught a 2lb Largemouth Bass not 60 yards from the launch. Also bagged 2 decent-sized trout from this lake.

If you go there just to fish and do not have a boat, the only place you can even get close enough to the water to throw a line in is at the boat ramp at the far east end of the lake and trust me, the fishing is not good there. I was very disappointed as this is purportedly one of the best bass fishing lakes in the state. It's too bad the county can't make a county park here so that more people could enjoy...
