Joined my community in solidarity to peacefully protest a commercial venture on community land. Felt good to make noise and gather with like minded neighbors who value the serenity of our park for its wildlife and natural beauty. Anclote River Park is a local treasure, nestled at the opening of the Anclote River to the Gulf of Mexico. For over twenty years, since I moved to the area, this park has often been a peaceful retreat allowing quiet time in nature. Whenever time allows we go listen to the birds, dip my toes in the sand and watch the colorful sunset. An Indian Mound nearby makes me ponder those who have sat in this spot before me, for centuries. EXCERPT from Suncoast News article 4/18/23 Over the years, there were several archaeological examinations done in the area of the park. One done in 1970 by the Suncoast Archaeology Society describes “a six-foot-high temple mound, a midden and a burial mound 75 feet in diameter and 7 feet tall.”

It is awe inspiring, and being encroached upon by developers that want to turn the county park into a 22,000 square feet restaunt with indoor/outdoor seating, floating docks, a water sports concession and space for live entertainment monstrosity.

There are plenty of places that offer all that in the area, our community parks aren't for this purpose. The proposed plan will turn our natural space into another parking lot zoo based on commercialism. Does not belong edging the Indian mound, the Spanish well and the Eagles Nest that have long called this special place home. We, the community of Anclote DO NOT want this. This is our park not your Entertainment venue. #ancloteriver #ancloteriverpark #indianmounds #savenaturalspaces...

I live close to Anclote River Park and it has been a daily stop for the last few years. It used to be an immaculate park. Now it is just nasty. Trash laying all around, tree limbs left on the ground for weeks at a time, people sleeping in their cars, lawns needing cut and trimmed. Restrooms are dirty, dogs run around off leash and owners do not clean up after them. I was charged by a pit bull and I complained to the park manager but nothing was done about it. But I was warned that I could not feed the stray cats. That I could be fined 80.00 if I continued to do so. The park manager was aggressive and condescending when I questioned her thought process about why she was so adamant about me not feeding a couple of strays when there were far bigger issues she needed to be concerned with. It seemed she was threatening to call animal control if I didn't immediately stop feeding and watering these abandoned animals. I don't know if she just doesn't like cats or is just mean spirited. I questioned the condition of the park and at first she said the parks condition was attributed to the pending development plans. Then she back tracked and claimed it was because her staff is spread between 8 other parks. In any case her priorities are sadly misplaced. A once beautiful park has now become something you would expect to see in Pasco County. Very...

Nice boat dock's 4 sides to pull up and down in and are deep enough with no issues with our 21ft boat. Clean bathrooms. The dock's are north of Honeymoon Island at a 15 minute cruise and Clearwater Beach at a 30 minute cruise. There are 2 down falls to the area leaving Anclote. 1 is if you do not stay in the markers the water depth seems to be shallow 5 feet or less. The 2nd is the park has no rinse station to rinse your boats when you pull the boat out of the saltwater. We took our senior dog with us and the park does not allow animals, but who cares she needed to potty and she rides with us on the boat. A fellow visitor was swift to condemn me about picking her stool up before she had time to finish. I told them to relax and give my dog a dang minute and I was going to and he walked off. Senior Citizens seem to utilize the beach area to the right of the boat dock launches. We may be back, but I would prefer just to launch at Seminole Clearwater boat docks. They may currently not have restrooms but by fall 2019 it will have been updated with a...

We have visited many of the beaches and dog parks in the Tampa area. This is by far our favorite place to start or end the day with a dog walk. Beautiful sunsets, not over crowded, clean, working restrooms, and we have seen a few dolphins here. Thank you to all who manage this property.

Kids love this beach. Coming from the north on 19... this is one of the first beaches you come to that have white sand and a sandy bottom in the water. The swimming area is roped off to keep boaters far enough away and the water in the swimming area was only around 5 feet deep at the farthest area. Kids were swimming and found sand dollars... a shell with a crab in it and even a scallop swimming backwards. Dad had a crab hanging onto his swimming trunks and the kids were laughing. The picnic area has plenty of trees and shade with picnic tables and there are bathrooms...an outdoor rinsing shower and extra bath houses for changing. Definitely one of our favorite beaches in the area. The only draw back is they do not allow dogs.... but I did see dogs walking in the picnic area... so maybe they allow dogs there just not on the beach. For a dog park/beach area you need to go up north a bit to the Anclote Gulf park with the fishing pier..they have a nice dog park there.
