The bad: No good signage for lots Irresponsible workers Careless management Cash cow of RV parks no doubt. Business plan made by a grade schooler This place was noisy, or lot #106 was noisy the whole time Charge for washing your RV Charge for the air you breathe outside
The good: Wifi You will fill up their bank account quickly.
We were bait and switched from Tennessee (900) miles away.... and I would extremely recommend another place to stay if at all possible. Please get full details before you arrive. We did and it was not enough. Kathleen left out a ton of information. They charge premiums for anything and everything they can. Laundry, fire pits, kayaks, They would charge for the air outside if they could get away with it. I have traveled to RV parks that were premium and stayed at better RV sites than this. They have no pool. The sites are shells, not paved. I am not new to the RV world either. This park is the dollar store of RV parks. Everything costs something. There is NO value at all. I feel embarrassed that I had to pay a $1000 a month for this RV park but I didn't have a choice. As a consumer I like to feel like I may or may not get a deal here and there but this place there is no deal. My space was backed up to a house ! I was charged premium for this wall view. Now that I'm gone I can say clearly that this place is useless and so are the people that work there. Never again. When someone tells you from 900 miles away you have a permanent spot, then you get there and you do not, it makes life difficult. Quite frankly managment sucks and their business model was made by a grade schooler. Do your due diligence and research this place extensively. Also avoid Kathleen, and the owner. You will not get a straight answer from anyone. I would advise talking to Kim she knows more than the owner or Kathleen. You will regret your decision immensely if you do. I will not ever go back and I would hate for another family to experience the anxiety and stress I had. Please do not travel and get here to be exhausted to find out they changed your plans for you. Did I mention cash cow of RV parks and camping ? I no longer RV or camp but while I was going through it it was extremely difficult and I am so glad that I did experience this cash cow RV park because it makes me appreciate now, that I needed a much better place. I sold my RV after this place, and got an apartment. So much for saving money while I'm in college. There is no saving money with this place. I transferred with my job and was hoping to save money but this place is cash cow machine. I'm over it now but I will warn others going forward , you wont get any money back for anything. Just realize that. Also you better stay off their dead grass. They will notify you. They also play favorites to their full timers. You cannot have anything outside that obstructs the grass but the full timers can have their stuff out there? OK whatever. It's not a place for full timers. More for retirees. I feel because I was a full timer I was discriminated against but that's beside the point. They could care less. My final thoughts: cash cow and not at all impressed with anything except the wifi. Kathleen and the owner are useless. Kim is your...
Read moreUpdate.. I did get a call from the manager today which I appreciate. I did not contact the office prior to my review as I believe the unit should have been in rentable shape without me having to tell you. I have not had to do that with any lodging at this price point. My review still stands and my hope is that you will go in and wash all dishes, floors, bathroom etc so that the next guest doesn't have to. A review of the checklist you say was used might be in order as well. Thanks again for the call.
The positives.. 1.the park has a great view of the water and very close access to gulf of you are a a boater 2.very dog friendly with small dog park. Bath towels were very nice and fluffy
The disappointments We rented the cabin for 4 nites to spend time with our friends who have RVs .. the cabin is not worth the $200 per nite rate. The unit is Very dirty in all aspects floors left the bottom of our feet black if no shoes on. Floors need serious mopping. Yes I know it's a campground and I swept daily.. but it was from the first step we took in the unit. Check behind the toilet and the outside of the toilet for cleanliness. Wipe the ledge of the countertop backsplash you'll see what I mean. That's what counters and dishes have on them. ALL dishes and cookware needed to be washed before we could use them. No dishtowels but had plenty of bath hand towels to use A large issue for us was the live cockroaches on the counter! Not sure where they came from but we did not appreciate knowing they were crawling on the open dishes etc. Bathroom sink had shaving hairs in it when we arrived. I had to clean up before putting our bath stuff in. The mattress is so broken down that one person is sucked into a dip on the right side. A full size mattress is not large enough for 2 people especially one that is in such broken down structure. We left a day early because we were not comfortable here.
When my husband turned in the keys He told the girl it was very dirty and she said she would tell the manager..no other interaction..
Manager. If you are so inclined we would appreciate a refund for the nite we didn't stay. We left by checkout time today. I'd be happy to talk to you in person if you wish to. Just call Best regards ...
Read moreLet me start by saying you'll like a lot of things about this campground - the staff, the location, the bathrooms are clean and a lot of the park amenities. I am not happy about the value, though. I had reserved a couple months in advance a premium, top dollar site that I thought would be as they put on their website with an "uninterrupted view of the water." My site, site 201, is indicated on the park map as being one of those waterfront premium sites, however, I spent my entire stay looking past the back of the heads of my neighbors in sites 202 and 203 who actually were waterfront and paid the same amount as me. See pic of site attached with peek-a-boo view past one of my neighbors head (too bad the boat wouldn't stop until he got out of the way! LOL). In fact, when I pulled in, I asked the nice staff member if I could use the site 202 next to us which was vacant and waterfront and she said it had been reserved (no mention of that on their website and their booking link does not allow site specific reservations - evidently, you have to call the office to make the reservation). I still enjoyed the Tarpons Springs area and I make the best of what I have, but the ownership should change the color (and price) of site 201 on the park map to yellow or some other color than blue. This site was the same price as sites 202-207, but much less value. After I had already set up, I was called and offered some other site in the 300's (which may have had a slightly better view, but by then it would have been a pain to break down and move especially since it was raining (they stated they could tell my disappointment when after showing me my site). While that was thoughtful and appreciated, it could have been done before setting up and mentioned before they left me at the site. So make sure to call the park to make your reservation specific to the site you want - don't use their booking link - and if you're not sure what the site looks like, ask for them to take a few pictures of it and send to you. At $170 a night after tax, you want to know what...
