Went kayaking there, out in the mangroves on a Sunday morning 06/26/22. It was a beautiful, calm, and peaceful experience because we went there around 9:30am. At that time in the water, there wasn't much to see but a few birds and endless of mangrove crabs. The water was still and we sat and drifted sometimes. More of a meditative calming kayak experience we had going through the different mangrove trails. Most common mangrove there is the red mangrove and so many baby fishes swimming around. When we were ready to leave around noon time, it started getting busy and more people were showing up. Hopefully next time we visit we can see something more than just crabs and fish.

Didn't take any updated photos of this place. Less litter crowded around, thank God. The main beach part was closed when we went, and people were out despite there now being posts up. They have more trash receptacles so people can throw away their trash. We went and popped up our hammocks for about an hour. Can't wait to go back. Edit: I managed to get a couple of videos and a couple of pictures. This beach is a lot cleaner than it used to be, not as much trash laying around, but still has work that needs done for that to happen.

We Out there car meet up every friday and saturday Sometimes it's like a 50/50 Because the local cops kick us out Sometimes But the state troopers don't mind us being there We're only getting together because we don't feel like going out to a club or a bar wasting our money If it's not on our cars But that meet up is like a bar. You know how people go out to the bar and see their friends That's our club that's our bar we meet up and see people Talk about our cars and stuff And just chill and have fun

If you're looking for relaxation this is the perfect spot. Early mornings during the wk is the best time to enjoy this jewel. It's just off the side of road off Gandy Bridge, not fancy nor private. The water is a bit dark and white sands aren't as soft as the larger beaches. But hold on now, you can back your car up & tailgate with a tent and small grill. I prefer to bring chairs, a picnic basket & relax with my family.

It's amazing and among one of my favorite places to be. Went kayaking with my wife and hooked up to a monster sheepshead the last time and though I didn't catch anything as big as the sheepshead this time, we were lucky enough to view a beautiful sunset. I now live 3 hours away and still find time to make the trip. It's worth the drive for that level of relaxation.

Still beautiful but the views are tainted by the anount of trash and graffiti. I wish the county would send the cleaning crews back and add more trash cans. I remember when the corrections department had inmates cleaning the beach, it greatly helped after weekends and holidays. The current state of Gandy Beach is a tragedy.
