Tonight was a night I will not forget! The food was absolutely amazing but that’s not what truly ended up making an impression on my heart forever. I want to start off by saying that there is no such thing as a coincidence. God truly does put people, plans and even restaurants and servers in your path! My husband and I looked high and low for crab claws and found only one place that had them; Crab Shack, little did we know they weren’t on the beach but almost a 30 minute ride from where we were. We made the trek even after almost turning around several times knowing we were gonna have to go back to treasure island to pick our older kids up before heading back home to Wesley Chapel. Well praise God we listened. I will say in the 1.5 years we have been in the Tampa area since moving from Alabama we had what I would call a God wink by the 2 most precious women that worked there. Paula, the manager, who also served us shared a story with us as we shared one with her not knowing the impact it would end up having on the both of us. We laughed cried and everything in between to then have her pay for our dinner. I didn’t know what to do with myself. We had never had suck an impactful moment. Another lady, Paula who was a server happened to be just as precious and was a fellow Alabamian. I couldn’t go anywhere without making this review bc it’s an experience my husband and I will never forget and I hope the both of them see this and know that they are loved, appreciated and most of all have a lot of blessings in store for them! I came here on a whim on a Saturday afternoon after a friend of mine said their snow crab is delicious. I was here around 2 pm and there wasn’t any wait.

It's a small location with the inside feel of a small town pub. My waitress, Tiff was very attentive and did a great job with suggestions, since it was my first time.

I opted for a 1.5 lbs of snow crab, their coleslaw and French fries with Cajun seasoning. My order was perfect to. Get me content and not over full. Like I could go run or play basketball or go on a roller coaster and I’d be fine.

On to the food:

Snow crabs - 5/5. Very fresh and perfectly made. I highly recommend asking a waitress to show you the “proper way” of consuming crabs so you get big chunks of meat and none gets wastes!

Service - 5/5. The waitress was incredibly friendly and helpful. My drink never finished as she always kept me fully refilled.

Fries - 3/5. Really nothing to write home about.

Coleslaw - 4/5. It was more saucy than actually fresh cut coleslaw. But it was flavorful, I personally prefer ones that are dryer.

The crabs were delicious and the service was spectacular. The sides aren’t stellar and the bill can get pricey for those wanting to hav crab (market price based on weight). Overall a 4/5.

Although the place may seem casual, the bill was nothing but. The entire meal cost me $38 before taxes. So if you’re expecting a cheap bill, this place isn’t for you. Although the quality of the crab is top notch, so don’t let the humble looking structure make you think otherwise.

Easily the worst meal I have ever had in my life. I have never complained about food, I’m Italian and eat everything. We’ll let me tell you, I would have fathered starved than just go through what I did. We are weekly shells people and decided to give this a try. First, I was sat under a mold infested vent (I don’t know how that is legal) then we ordered clam chowder that was 90% water and 10% sand. But the worst of all was the meal. I ordered their seafood pasta. Maybe I made a bad call ordering pasta, but personally I don’t know how anyone makes a bad pasta. It came out freezing cold & chunky. It was literally the texture of slime with bubbles and cold. After waiting over 30 minutes it could have atleast been hot. I have never in my life send food back and I did for the first time. They put it in the microwave and brought it back out. It was hot now, but when I dived in and tasted the seafood I almost vomited. The seafood was disgusting, a can of clams would have tasted better. I could not eat more than one bite. The waitress (who was not nice at all) stared at our full plates and asked us if we wanted dessert. I did not want to cause a scene and we paid our bill and went on our way. But I would HATE for anyone to go through what we went through. I am not picky, I am thankful, and I am also a teacher who does not make a lot of money. For this to be our one date night a week, I was mortified and disgusted that I wasted that much money.
