The trail itself is fairly nice; definitely a decent spot for viewing wildlife. Unfortunately you may encounter lots of trash and graffitti in certain spots, and that is normal for trails like this that aren't state/federally managed. As many other reviewers have said (and this is common knowledge for Pensacola locals), it is in a "sketchy" area and I would not be comfortable holding expensive belongings out in plain view while walking by other people. I only visited once and may not visit again.

Could be great but the trail is in a sketchy area. The boardwalk and bridges are new/under-construction but they are spray painted and there is trash strewn about. Such a shame that it is in the state it is but this place is a victim of its location.

Very enjoyable, the wetland has changed dramatically in the past 30 years and not in a good way. I hope this brings more attention to an already stressed ecosystem, there are some beautiful flora and fauna, even the occasional black bear.

Just recently started work near Naval Hospital & was trying to find a place to walk on my lunch break. Was excited when I found this place. Went today on break and was extremely disappointed! Super sketchy area (not safe, especially for women) & the boardwalks closed, "restricted area" yellow tape everywhere. Parking is just random in grass, mud, sand. I attempted to walk a trail. Wow. Trash everywhere, picnic tables overturned, smells of human feces, and many camp fire ashes at every bench. Come on Escambia Co.! It could be a beautiful place if kept up. Should never had developed if it cannot be maintained. I would've taken pics, but I got the heck outta dodge when I saw what looked like a prostitution deal going down. Do...

DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT TO COME BACK TO YOUR VEHICLE WITH ALL OF IT'S WINDOWS STILL IN TACT! WE WENT THERE TODAY TO GET OUT OF THE HOUSE AND AFTER WALKING THE TRAILS WE WENT TO OUR CAR AND THE BACK WINDOW WAS BUSTED/SHATTERED. IT TRULY IS IN THE GHETTO! We didn't realize that before going! The trails weren't very clean looking. Lots of trash everywhere broken glass (even more broken glass now from our rear window) there was lots of beer cans/bottles, trash everywhere and broken boards on the boardwalks one boardwalk was burnt.. We didn't see the people who did this but someone else who was there said it was a group of 10.. Truly upset about this whole situation. I hope whoever decided to do this to us has karma gets...

I thought the wetlands were beautiful and I enjoyed the scenery. I would've had a blast in there as a kid and did, in fact, despite my daughters' contant whining. However, as already mentioned, portions of the trail are in a not-great area as the top of the boardwalk runs along the Slab (Warrington Village) and we came upon a heavily trashed area that may have been a homeless camp. I would recommend parking at PSC (there are multiple entrances from the campus) and going west. East would take you toward Navy Blvd and the...
