Upon researching and finding a handicap accessible beach (for my disabled wheelchair bound mother) while visiting from Texas, we chose this spot on Amelia's island. After enjoying the beach for a couple hours we chose an available pavilion to bbq and relax the last couple hours since the park was near closing. We had our small 10lb (if that) terrier tied to one of the concrete pillars closer to the parking lot (RV). We started the fire on the pit. Our RV was parked in the designated area. There was one horse trailer parked in back area, which we were completely unaware was for horseback rides on beach, until we saw them approaching which initially we thought was really cool that we were going to see them a bit up close. Joke!! Our dog who's never seen a horse in his life started barking. To which, the lady in pink and black tights then tells us she "suggests" we remove him or take him somewhere because the next trailer was pulling in with a "skittish horse". For one, why would you take customers on a ride with a skittish horse? On a PUBLIC beach that ALLOWS PETS ON A LEASH? I'm sure our dog isn't the first to bark at them. However, he was contained in our pavilion. He kept barking, so I then held him between my legs facing the opposite direction to create a distraction so he wouldn't bother them. I was holding him for a good 15mins up until the next riders showed up and I overheard her apologizing to them that we were sitting right there. That's when I asked the lady if we were not supposed to be in that specific area? Because why would she be apologizing that we're there? There are no signs posted stating we couldn't utilize that specific pavilion. She made us feel unwelcomed completely after we compromised and I was holding my dog and she basically was making us seem like it was a problem that we were sitting there.. I let him go after that because she lied saying she didn't apologize to the customers even though we all could hear her. My mom and husband heard her also. Next thing you know, she high tailed it to file a complaint to the security. To which they called 911 and reported an assault and a loose dog (cop showed us report). Which both were lies!!! Nobody, not even our dog came off that cement square. Nor was anybody touched. Next thing we know, 7 police cruisers show up and we were being "investigated" and asked to identify ourselves. When we DIDN'T even commit a crime. We IN FACT, followed ALL the rules because we were genuinely trying to enjoy ourselves. First time in Florida and this is how YOU treat people? This bougie entitled b got what she wanted. A whole show in front of the customers who waited well over an hour during the interaction from start to finish. Very unprofessional. They arrested my husband because he failed to identify. Yet shes the one who was in the wrong! She and her colleague from the other trailer just dogged us the entire time. Like we were a nuisance. When SHE created the problem. They released my husband because there was NOTHING they could do because we didn't break any laws. Yet this woman won't be in trouble for lying. How does that work? She falsely accused and used resources that could be helping someone who really needed them. All for what? My baby barking!? Be so for real! Her riders were even saying this isn't how they treat visitors and another stated they wouldn't be riding with them again. The police stayed the duration of our time there watching us. Our wings got burned as we had just started cooking our food when they all showed up. This is not a way to treat VISITORS. We traveled far just for this Karen to try to ruin it BUT she couldn't. If you're the owner, I hope you have the year you deserve! If this is an employee, she should be fired. This was totally uncalled for because YOU solely were irritated about a dog barking? Maybe choose another spot? That doesn't allow access to dogs. Furthermore. Don't make false reports on innocent people and drag them through the chaos you did with us. Horrible! Harassment at its...

Introduction: The beach, with its vast expanse of shimmering sand and crystal-clear waters, has always been a popular destination for nature enthusiasts and beachgoers alike. Among the numerous beaches in the area, one stands out for its exceptional beauty and unique features. This essay aims to explore the captivating allure of this beach, focusing on its cleaner blue waves and the presence of a thriving local tortoise community.
I. Cleaner Blue Waves: The first remarkable feature that distinguishes this beach from others in the vicinity is the unparalleled cleanliness of its blue waves. As one approaches the shoreline, the sight of the glistening azure waters is truly mesmerizing. Unlike neighboring beaches, where pollution and human activity have taken a toll on the water quality, this beach remains relatively untouched, offering a pristine environment for visitors to enjoy.
A. Environmental preservation efforts: The cleanliness of the waves can be attributed to the dedicated efforts of local authorities and environmental organizations. Strict regulations and regular clean-up initiatives have been implemented to maintain the beach's natural beauty. These measures include regular waste management, water quality monitoring, and public awareness campaigns to educate visitors about the importance of preserving the marine ecosystem.
B. Enhanced water clarity: The beach's unique geographical location also contributes to the clarity of its blue waves. Shielded from strong currents and pollution sources, the waters remain undisturbed, allowing for excellent visibility and a more enjoyable swimming experience. The absence of sedimentation and debris ensures that visitors can fully appreciate the natural beauty of the underwater world.
II. The Local Tortoise Community: In addition to its pristine waves, this beach is home to a thriving local tortoise community, adding an element of wonder and ecological significance to the area. The presence of these ancient creatures further enhances the beach's appeal and provides an opportunity for visitors to connect with nature on a deeper level.
A. Habitat suitability: The beach's unique ecosystem, characterized by its sandy dunes and lush vegetation, provides an ideal habitat for tortoises. The abundance of vegetation offers a plentiful food source, while the sandy terrain allows for easy nesting and hatching of eggs. The beach's relatively undisturbed environment ensures the survival and growth of the tortoise population.
B. Conservation efforts: Local authorities and environmental organizations have recognized the importance of protecting the tortoise community and have implemented various conservation measures. These include the establishment of protected areas, monitoring of nesting sites, and educational programs to raise...
Read moreWhat to say about Peters Point Beachfront Park?
I dare to say this is, hands down, my favorite Beachfront Park that I have visited, at least in the United States.
Everything is very organized and clean. There are several shower stations both outside and INSIDE the bathrooms. Additionally, there's a changing area in the bathrooms in front of the, at least, 6 shower heads and even a bench inside to shower a toddler or a person with mobility disabilities. They have nice soap, and although for some reason the men's bathroom sinks didn't have water, there were plenty of showers to rinse it off like I wrote earlier. And they have water fountains with actual COLD water. Now, the wooden bridges that take you to the beach make you want to have them at home. They're really nice quality and very picturesque. This park allows vehicle transit in the sand and I saw at least 3 lifeguard stations with actual lifeguards on duty. Parking is great too.
I will definitely would like to visit again while on...
