Do visit! Very moderately priced ($10 for adults) for a glimpse back in time and an opportunity to glean local history from volunteers, many of whom have lived in the area for generations. There are events of all kinds on location from reenactments to holiday themed family fun. Funded by donations and largely run via volunteers it seems, P.FL.M., is largely unheard of out side of Dade for a place that holds such an impressive swath of local antiquities and knowledge. The buildings are salvage saves and reassembled on site with new structures being built at the time of our visit. Aside from the museum proper there is: a full size steam engine/locomotive visitors are able to climb into and ring the bell on; a train depot station complete with telegraphs; a school house; period furnished homes; a historical center; a church; a citrus packing house; a model of a still; a general store and other era appropriate buildings packed wall to wall with things to look at. The main museum has everything from local fossils, stone age finds, a civil war display, period toys and dolls, and a very impressive display of the tools that built our country. Also worth note: at the time of our visit there was a traveling Smithsonian exhibit on display and an outdoor wedding being set up...great idea for a themed wedding/event. I would very much like to see this place rediscovered, busy and booming

If there is a more comprehensive museum with a more complete collection of the culture of frontier life, I've never seen it! There were so many gems from the native beadwork, to the first lady dolls, to the tool collection, and the sewing and weaving machines. And that's just indoors! I was blown away with the amazing pieces they have curated. The staff was so kind and helpful, answering all my extra questions. I learned more in one afternoon than I have in a long time thanks to this museum. Fun for all ages, there's stuff to keep everyone interested. Oh and free parking!!!

The entire staff here is absolutely fabulous it was the acknowledgeable about their museum about the village and about the time period at their museum covers.

My husband and I just had our wedding there in October 15th and we couldn't have been more thrilled with the customer service that we received from the entire team at the Pioneer museum and village.

They went above and beyond to make sure that our day went perfectly. My wedding was unique and I had special requests of certain things I wanted to do and they went out of their way to try to accommodate all of those requests.

I cannot thank them enough for all That they did for us.

The museum itself is beautiful inside inside is extremely unique with little setup since displays of different time periods. Safabulous place to take some unique pictures.

The village itself has historic buildings that you're able to go in-and-out of your own leisure Really fun just a beautiful place the grounds beautiful the buildings are beautiful beautiful the customer service is awesome.

It's a definite must do if you're visiting the Dade City area the Tampa area or surrounding areas the drive is worth it.

And if you feel like driving about 15-20 minutes further North you should also check out the rich loom general store It's an...

This is a fantastic institution of florida history. The museum is spacious and filled with artifacts of all kinds relating to florida life. From prehistoric artifacts of nature native to the state all the way up to more modern items. They have a wonderful variety of history to explore and learn from. The grounds are filled with items and displays that allow anyone to immerse themselves into the period they are viewing. The staff members are very friendly and highly knowledgeable. I visited this museum 20 years ago as a young boy and have recently traveled back with my wife and two young sons. I was so impressed with everything that we bought an annual membership so we can come visit again and again. It takes some time to view everything and you can literally spend hours there absorbing information on Florida's history. We all look forward to visiting again soon and learning more. The museum also does some really great living history performances. Well worth the small charge for the annual pass to keep visiting. I would give 10 stars if possible. Thank you to everyone involved with making this experience possible for all of...
