Frankly my experience here was the worst golf service experience I have ever had and was the low note of a trip. Between the starter and ranger on the first hole, my day here was ruined before my group got off the tee box. On a weekend trip to Tampa to celebrate my best friends engagement, I went with a group of 9 friends of skill level ranging from beginners to lifelong golfers for 18 holes at this course. I have never heard of a golf course that dissuades beginners from playing with their friends. The course was as expected and I have no notes but the starter and ranger at the first hole are absolutely the worst employees I have ever come across playing golf at courses across this country. We spent over an hour before our tee time spending money at the club, be it in the pro shop or at lunch, and going out to the first tee box the starter made an executive decision without contacting the pro shop to change our group format, spending about 5 minutes just himself to figure out how to send off 9 people in three tee times. Because of this time we spent before we even teed off talking to the starter, the ranger approached my friend, the groom, and promptly insulted him and our other friend in the cart for their tee shots while I was in my backswing . As I walked off the tee he tried the same with me in addition to questioning my general knowledge and conduct having seen nothing but my first swing of the day. He had no reason to stop us and so we continued on the hole. As we played the hole he waited with our groups behind us insulting us to them, which I later learned and I am even more disgusted by. I could not enjoy the rest of my day, I am still upset about this, and I will legitimately never forget that this is the experience I had with my friends on what should have been a day of only positive memories. Despite great service at the mulligans club I will never return to this...
Read moreFrom the first moment I spoke with Stacey, the Director of Sales and Events, I knew we had picked the right venue. I can't say enough about her professionalism, helpfulness and polite, friendly demeanor. Over the last 30 years of doing banquets and functions (I used to work at the Hyatt in banquets) she is by far the nicest, most efficient, honest, and reliable individual I have ever collaborated with to do an event. She made sure the 80th surprise party for my Dad went off without a hitch.
The staff could not have been more helpful and professional. They were very concerned with making sure we were happy with everything. Dave, Maria, Ivan, and Jeff, the chef, were just awesome and we can't thank them enough for their hard work and diligence.
Jessie, the General Manager, accommodated our request to have the party on my Dad's actual birthday, the night before their huge Easter Brunch, which we appreciate more than we can express. I know having worked in the industry having a function the night before a big banquet can make things harder on the staff. Thank you, Jessie!
Stacey's creativity and direction ensured the party a success. The room looked great and the FOOD! I have had a LOT of banquet food in my life, and this was by far the best I have ever had. That says a lot because I am super picky and Italian! The Chicken Parmesan and pasta were exceptional. I highly recommend the food.
Bottom line, if you are looking for a location with beautiful views, awesome food, reasonable prices, and excellent staff, then Plantation Palms is the...
Read moreThe Todd Wright Tour has hosted amateur golf events in various formats across many golf properties in the greater Tampa Bay Area since 2015.
Plantation Palms is an annual stop for many reasons.
I can always trust that General Manager Jesse Pratt will make the extra effort to provide my players the best possible experience.
He not only maintains the 18-hole, Par 72 layout in quality condition, but also made recent upgrades to greenside areas with new landscaping that replaced poorly designed bunkers that were often wet or unplayable.
My players have enjoyed excellent food and beverage at each tournament, served either in the banquet room or on course via the beverage cart by Gabriela who always brings enthusiasm and energy to our tournaments.
The attention to detail at Plantation Palms is further exemplified by recent renovations to the 18-hole miniature golf course. New turf as well as different decorations and themes for many holidays attract families who want to save significant money against that "other" miniature golf course a little to the East, near I-75.
When I'm not hosting Todd Wright Tour golf events, I play Plantation Palms regularly and enjoy bringing friends out for a casual round or participating in Jesse's well-organized outings.
The Todd Wright Tour proudly endorses this property for golf, mini-golf, as a venue for private events or just a simple lunch or dinner on the...
