Publix Sports Park — Attraction in Panama City Beach

While the park and facilities were top notch and entry staff was friendly -most of the fields are a hike and parking too if you are not there early, but there are some golf attendants that are sporadically available once inside the park to help if you need it.

You will need shade for some fields and also in the batting cages too. Recommend adding shade to those for the kids.

What we were not happy with was The Umpires - they had a lot of language barriers and had bad calls, they stopped our game before time was up and also the same thing happened on the neighboring field causing 2 different teams to not finish and resulted in a loss. They also had what seemed to be the smallest strike zone and seem to favor the what seemed to be the local teams. Sad for those who drive so far and for the kids who played their hearts out all tournament weekend! USAA director seems to not want to lay the rules down and took what the umps said when both teams had the same issue… not sure if we will come back to this sports complex for games and spend the amount of time and money we did here! Also concessions were super over priced and didn’t give the correct change on 2 different occasions please watch out...

We were there for a soccer tournament, fields were well maintained, the fields were spread out,l you didn’t feel bunched up with other games going on right behind you, and facilities were clean. There are only maybe 3 things that kept this from 5 stars, first being with the facility being so huge and where you park could end up being very far from the field you have to go to, maybe having so more golf carts on hand to help transport grandparent, expectant mothers, or anyone that has trouble walking the distance to where the game is being played. The only other issue I had was we were sent a sheet of rules from the facility, it specifically said water would be provided at the field for the players, which I understand is to help with waste and garage, yet I think I saw one water jug, which was resting on the opponent’s bench, not a very welcoming water break, and if you didn’t have anything to put there water in you were just out of luck. There was not anything provided to put the water in. Maybe just take that off the rules sheet, it just seemed to misrepresent what was available leaving a few kids without water whose parents...

Not quite done yet, but the astro turf fields are starting to look great which means no more rain outs and no more muddy cleats. The concessions and support buildings are starting to look fantastic and are moving right along. This will be a great addition to the Panama City Beach in Panama City area. Looking forward to many of smiling baseball soccer and softball teams with all the new amenities in the 21st century ballpark. Well it's finally opening day we have lots of kids out here playing ball! I see they were already getting some negative reviews people should be ashamed of themselves we got a 5 month late start because of this hurricane and many many many people have spent long and I mean very long hours in a lot of hard work so that these kids tournament didn't have to get canceled so just from a local who knows what went on down here from Hurricane Michael if you have anything negative to say about this park at this point you should have had to live through what we did and you would see what a miracle...
