Great trail with some beautiful sunset spots! Fairly thin walkway, with nice grassy areas and oaks all around. Encountered 1 other couple while walking. Walked along the paved road back due to a lack of daylight towards the end. Some very hilly spots so careful around those! Not a ton to sightsee, but perfect for a light workout and fresh air. You can find us on most socials @sunsetourist for other local reviews and travel content!

I walked the Shady Trail around 7:30 pm and didn’t see anyone else there. The trail runs alongside a main road and goes on for quite a while. It looked like it’s mostly used by bikers. There weren’t many natural trees—just dry bushes and a lot of dead leaves. It felt a bit spooky and deserted at that time. Not the most peaceful or scenic place for a walk. Probably better to go during the day and stick to busier hours.

Perfect for family hiking, ages from 4 to 70. Safe and might take 1 to 2 hrs to compleet the loop depending on how fast you walk .

This hike has everything, three paths your can take to satisfy your hiking need. There's a fire trail which has been cleaned up to where it isn't too Rocky anymore. Another path called shady trail which is described, nice path in the shade and the middle ridge trail which has a nice incline. At the top you are able to see where the college's do their practice and water events. Also I believe it's the Folsom fish hatchery. Great views but also watch out for bikers as they enjoy taking the hills down so that can be an...

Started at the Main Street trailhead to hike Middle Ridge Trail. About 10-12 cars can fit in that area. There’s no signage where to park or if a state park permit was needed. Got there at 7:30 on a Sunday in February and there were about 5 spots left. No toilets at the trailhead or anywhere on the trail that we saw. We took the Middleridge trail to the river which definitely was more scenic. Took a few photos near Nimbus Dam. On the way back we took the Shady Trail. I’d definitely visit...
