I’ve been taking my dogs 🐕 to Phoenix Dog Park since the old Park was open there, about 13yrs.ago! I’ve always found both the owners and their humans to be most friendly and well behaved. Lol I really feel it is the very best place to bring your dog for play in Fair Oaks. Most people that use this park to socialize and/or exercise their dogs, are very respectful of the parks rules as well as being courteous to other owners. The posted rules are for the health and safety of all dogs & humans using the park, here are just a few,1.Keeping your dog leashed until inside the gate. 2. Use the appropriate section for your dogs size and temperament. There are #3 sections, Small dogs, Large dogsu and one section for dogs that can not safely be with other dogs for various reasons. This includes dogs with unpredictable behavior, dogs recovering from surgery yet require exercise and extremely small dogs or puppies that have had the appropriate shots, to insure all dogs a healthy environment. Picking up and deposing of your dogs feces. No children under the age of 14yrs. are allowed in the dog park, for their own safety.
Signs of all rules plus much more important information about the dog park are clearly posted on the fence at the main entrances as well as closer to the parking. Thank You to all responsible owners for respecting our Dog Park, I for one appreciate you very much!...
Read moreThere's a group of older women with untrained/rude dogs that act like they own the dog park. My dog has had multiple positive interactions with other dogs/owners, but these women have no interest in training or containing their dogs that seem hell bent on dominating and submitting my dog. One was growling and had my dog's entire neck in it's mouth and had her pinned to the ground. I interfered and yelled at the owner to recall their dog. The own said her dog was just playing and I must not know huskies. Her dog did not recall, and while I was body blocking, she said there was nothing she could do because her dog wouldn't recall. At this point I had my dog leashed, just in case she suddenly changed her behavior. This women was part of the group of elder ladies that come and let their dogs behave badly with no discipline or training. 3 times I've had negative interactions here, all with this same group of ladies, and this last interaction being the worst/most aggressive.
Although this park is big, with 2 training fenced in areas on top of the small/large dog areas, I will never bring my dog back...
Read moreWe had a great first visit to Phoenix Dog Park. It took me a second to figure out how to get in... The entrance is along the very tall fence on the long side of the dog park. The grass was plentiful. The grounds were well-maintained. Dog owners were respectful, tidy, and polite. The fence between the small and large dogs is short (3' chain link), so it might be an issue if you have a fence jumper. There is a hose, wading pools, dog bowls, 5 gallon bucket... plenty of water. There are poop bags and garbage bins along the perimeter of park. There are shade structures which are very welcomed on warm days. The western side of the park automatically ends up in the shade in the afternoon, thanks to trees behind the fence line. There isn't any basic agility equipment or tables like at some dog parks. Lots of people bring their dogs and Chuck-Its to just play fetch, and none of the dogs there were toy aggressive or anything. Oh, and I like the cool message board sign in the front! All in all, it was a great experience and I'm looking forward to...
