We have always loved Mikuni and have been coming to visit for 5 years. The sushi is the best, hands down, and we always have good service when dine in is available. The koki club is good and makes the prices well worth it. However, today's visit was very discouraging. When we came a week ago, the very nice guy brought out our food and reminded us that we have earned a $7 reward that expires in two weeks. He said it would be applied next time we come in. [When dining in, sometimes servers automatically take rewards off the bill and sometimes they ask if you want to use them before charging.] Since the points were expiring so soon after I earned them it made sense to go back again. So today we placed an order with club card and I went back after work. There was no option online to use point rewards. When the order came out, I asked the lady if my points had been applied and she said yes and walked away. When I looked, I saw my points had been added, but none were used. The credit was not applied. I called right away while still outside to ask if it could be applied and was told that since it had been charged there was nothing they could do. So I then asked how I could use my reward next time sinec there is no way to do so online. I was basically told that were was no way to use a reward in that format and i would just have to use it next time...HOW?! So now I spent more money than intended, went out of my way and my rewards (which I just earned) are going to expire. What is the point of the reward system if there is no way to honor it when dine in is closed? I dont care how good the food is, it is not worth it you are not...
Read moreGreat sushi place with a casual atmosphere.
I came here with my girlfriend and we both loved it! The atmosphere was a little too casual for my taste, but the food and service MORE than made up for it, so this place still gets five stars.
STARTERS:
Seaweed salad was refreshing and tender.
Agedashi tofu was hot and crispy all around. It did not come in a miso broth as is common in some restaurants, but had enough flavor to stand on its own.
SUSHI:
Listed from top to bottom as they appear in my picture.
The James Dean Roll was slightly sweet and had a rich flavor.
The Masa Three Roll had a refreshing citrus flavor that was very unique. It's a great option to add variety if ordering 3+ rolls for a table.
The Annie Roll had a delicious umami (savory) flavor and had a great combination of proteins.
SAKE:
Perfect temperature. Hot enough that it was still slightly warm by the end of the meal but not too hot so I could drink it immediately with my meal, and tasted like good quality sake.
ATMOSPHERE:
The only thing I didn't enjoy. They had sports on the TVs and we ended up seated right in front of one, so I was a little distracted during our date. I don't even like sports much but it's hard to avoid looking at it when it's right in front of me.
SERVICE:
Excellent. Very attentive yet didn't bother us too often with a nice and...
Read moreThe food is athentic for sure. Yummy flavors but the service is not all about the customers.... The lava cake is horrible dry and for the prices of soda you would think you would get more then one soda .. No refills offered... Okay so I haven't been here for a while But went with 7 family members today 11/16/2019 Cristi Bell was the manager today. Again I have to say that even though the place was not packed the service was not all that great. it took an extremely long time for us to actually get our food everybody at the table was already served they ended up having to put my food in a to go container. I was disappointed, I had to get up and ask where my food was and then it was served not complete. They had to send it back. I'm so surprised. I spoke with the manager and yet our bill was well over $260.00. We were never offered refills on our Soda but the server made sure the champagne was full. I want everyone to know we are avid Sushi eaters. Mikuni's I'm sorry for this review.. on a good note I did take pictures and the food was presentable. I'll give this place one more try in the future maybe. You may...
