What a stunningly beautiful place this is. I have visited twice now and enjoyed the changing views from summer to winter. The camp sites are well serviced with good spacing between pitches and this makes for an atmosphere of peace and relaxation. The water always looks inviting and the boat launch facility at the South end of the reservoir is very large and well run. The impressive cliff face which gives the reservoir its name is best viewed by walking down one of the footpaths on the East edge of the water. These are rough pathways and not accessible to those with walking difficulties though. All the parking places along the East bank of the reservoir provide spectacular views at all times of the year. It’s close proximity to downtown Fort Collins makes it an easy escape to enjoy some peace or exercise but it never seems...

Such a beautiful setting and body of water rendered pedestrian at best by the throngs of speedboats and jet skis that clamor to compete for the daily title of "Who's Louder & More Offensive Than Me?"

If you enjoy shore fishing, canoe paddling or processing thoughts this might not be the lake for you. The swim beach is non-existent. It's comprised of dirt and jagged rocks.

Unquestionably, there are some great panoramic views to enjoy here. Perhaps experienced best on bike, horseback or on foot at Lory State Park.

In sum, Colorado Parks & Recreation might think to require some muffling of the noise emitted from the vehicles within this beautiful mountain getaway. It's tending more toward Bandimere Speedway than a public recreational gem it's...

I rarely give negative reviews, but this campground has a terrible cost to value ratio. I've been traveling full-time for six years and have never spent so much at a state/county campground. They charge a high rate (in my experience) for electric only sites. On top of the daily rate for your site, you have to pay a daily permit fee for your vehicle. They have showers, but charge for those as well, and the dump station.. you guessed it! You have to pay for that too! I'm shocked that a state/county run campground would be so expensive, especially since the sites aren't that great and you are right next to a highway, so constant traffic noise. I would definitely not...

We love Horsetooth! One of our absolute favorite places to go to. Gorgeous views of the mountains on either side, many little inlets that are great to fish in or even just hangout. People wise, the rangers are always nice and helpful as well as all the other staff. We’ve never had a problem here whether it be on the water or at the campsite. Quick and easy to get in. Fills up fast though! Absolutely avoid on the weekends, you will NOT get in unless you go before 7 or 8am or after 4/5pm.
