I love this preserve it's just sad because there is so much litter that washes up from the boats. I'm not even kidding you like a serious amount of garbage washes up on this preserve. There are people that clean it up every week, however, there are parents that are bringing their small children there with buckets and shovels thinking it's like a little Beach and letting him play in the filthy filthy sand and God only knows what else is in there. Outside of a comfortably shaded walk or lunch with what feels like an exclusive view of passing watercraft, another good use of the park would be to observe a brackish ecosystem (I think).
You can see different stages of mangrove growth up close, and a mini depression amongst some pretty tall cypress trees.
I think theres a potential for it to be a good place for portrait photographers. I took wildlife macros but maybe I need to return if theres any cool...
