This place has some unique history! Formally known as Canyon Land, circa 1970, was an amusement park and attraction with a sky lift that would take you to the bottom of the Canyon. Trail access beside sign or walk around gate to access road/ trail. This trail is steep and has loose gravel and some washout but very doable if you take your time going down and back up. Beautiful views and can see remnants of the old lift bases and concession building at bottom. I would not recommend for small children just because of the steep decline and there are Lookout points behind the bench area that can be dangerous for youngsters. Good shoes with grip is a must. Take a few drinks with you and just take your time out and back. We spent about 4hrs here..mostly exploring and enjoying the scenery. It takes maybe 30min. to reach the bottom if you head straight down the trail. Bama Mike on YouTube has a video on this place which includes info./ history of the trail and you can see...

There used to be a small park here with a chairlift to the bottom due to the steepness of the trail. The walk down is easy and quick, helped along by gravity. Where you pay for it is the hike back up to the top when gravity is working against you. Best to be aware of this before going down. Beautiful view from the overlook at the top of the canyon as well. A favorite local spot...
Β Β Β Read moreAwesome hike. Please be prepared. You need water and proper shoes. I saw a lady trying to climb back up in flip flops, she was STRUGGLING. My 8 year old did the trail though so it's not too treacherous but give yourself twice the time to go back as up as it took to go down. It is steep. Once at the bottom you can go right further on the trail. We hung out at the river but will go back to finish the trail sometime soon. A...
