We visited August 2024 - Eberhart Point was our 10th stop and the last overlook along the Little River Canyon Rim Parkway. A concrete trail leads you to the overlook. The views of the river may entice you to hike down to the bottom of the canyon, and there is a 1.5-mile out-and-back trail that will take you there. The dirt trail is described as rugged and steep, a moderate hike on the way down, but strenuous going back up. It was summer and very hot, so we decided to try the descent on a cooler day. Eberhart Point also has a large parking lot, restrooms, and a picnic area. Historically, the area on the preserve was home to Canyonland Park, a short-lived amusement park with rides and family fun activities on top of the mountain, and a chairlift that took visitors from Eberhart Point to the canyon bottom. Remnants of the amusement park are visible in the area. If you found this review helpful, please click on the like button.
