Little Falls — Attraction in Fort Payne

We wasted 15 minutes trying to find Martha falls in this location. But Martha Falls is 4.3 miles South East from this spot in US-35. Martha's Falls Parking lot (Coordinates : 34.392004, -85.618784) is to the right after you have crossed Little River Canyon bridge and travelled 0.6 miles SE in US-35 (look for the brown sign-board). From parking lot, walk about half a mile on the trail, take a left turn, and climb down to the canyon. The waterfalls is just 3 or 4 feet high and you approach it from top. Natural paradise! Access from trail starting at rear of “Little River Falls” parking area. Hike is optimal length not to long not to short maybe (maybe 20-25 min with kids), mostly level grade with roots and rocks, steep area going down to river. 4.5 yr old navigated entire trail. Had to carry 2.5 yr old some. You will likely want to go wading or be prepared to go swimming in this beautiful place. Be prepared! The rock river bed almost everywhere is extremely slick it helps to wear something like crocs. Very little trash. A few items of clothing left behind. Pack it in...

AKA, the Hippie Hole. It's a great place to cool down on a Summer day. Chill in one of the calmer pools above the falls or take a jump into the deeper waters below it. If youre feeling more adventurous, you can also go "boulder hopping". There's something for any age here.
