I’ve never see more NS OR CSX action in my life if you love trains then I highly recommend that you come here you will here a horn every 5 minutes and a train every 8-10 min when you arrive there will be a train there or coming there’s always a green signal never usually red always greens and heritage units on CSX for example PL&E Seaboard system Pennsylvania heritage unit on NS and more like the CSX geometry train on the Willard sub to the CSX office car special trains and so much more 100 trains a day pass through here this is probably in the top 5 train magazines for the busiest rail parks in the US this definitely is 1st place for the best railroad hotspots in Ohio if your wondering where you can catch a lot of trains or what is the best railroad hotspot in the US well it’s here the fostoria railpark everywhere you look there train tracks so welcome to train land trains every 5-8-10 mins they also have porta potties if you have to go to the bathroom and they have a deck and shade where you can just watch the trains go by they also have a fence and a field so you can run to all the tracks the NS is the Fostoria district and the csx far away in the field is the Willard sub and the one that crosses the NS is the Columbus sub Which goes from Detroit Michigan to Columbus Ohio the NS goes from Toledo Ohio to Elkhart Indiana so very historic lines the fostoria district is used to be the Nickel plate road the Columbus sub was the Chesapeake & Ohio so yeah very historic place I’ve Been here before and got 13 trains including and huge NS train with a BNSF leader with a massive hornshow probably the hornshow of the year I highly recommend you come here if you love trains and your a railfan enthusiast I will definitely be back here to railfan...

Not really sure if they know how a rail park should be set up. Why would one plant trees around the outer perimeter of the park, when the trees will block the wide open view when they mature? What kind of hideous monstrosity was built around the West side of the B&O Caboose?? Should have left it unaccusable rather encasing it with a ramp, looks horrible. And I say this being physically handicapped myself. What's up with the homeless person basically living in the park, in a dark blue Trail Blazer? Arrives nightly, and leaves every morning by about 7 AM? The park its self is surrounded by Ghetto neighborhoods with riffraff wandering the streets and in and out of the park. Downtown is a deserted ghost town. Dining in the area is limited to pretty much Fast Food, with the exception of a Mexican restaurant, a couple of Pizza joints, and Dell's, which is great except that didn't except Cards the last time I was there. The only suitable Lodging near by is the Best Western. Don't stay at the other place, just read their reviews... Shopping? Don't count on it. The last retail store was K Mart, that closed a few years back. For grocery items there is a Kroger, if you can where its tucked away at. There is a Save A lot, if that's your thing. But if you want to see trains, you will see trains. And now the City of Fostoria, which owns the Rail Park sold the adjacent land which was a clear parcel, with a clear view of the surrounding railroads to a company that is putting up a large building. This will indeed inhibit the view from the Rail Park. The City of Fostoria could screw up a...

As a train fanatic, Fostoria is my top favorite town for watching trains. It’s the only town of its size that I know, where multiple tracks still meet and converge at grade. What could be better? While diamonds are long gone in many places, Fostoria still has 13 of them in a triangle track layout of three mainlines, including a cloverleaf interchange of trackage allowing CSX trains to move in all compass directions. What could be better? The Railpark offers clear views of all the diamonds and connections. What could be better? A pavilion complete with a canopy over a seating area with bathrooms, vending machines, and maps on display. Even better? A scanner easily heard through mounted speakers. Even better? Trains can be heard approaching a few miles away. Even better? Trains galore. I’ve seen 16 trains in one visit. Sometimes traffic is constant. Even better? A spacious grassy area with a low fence right near the tracks, great for photography. A rail lover’s absolute dream. Kudos to the city of Fostoria for making such a great place a...

My husband is a railfan and this was one of his must see spots. We weren't disappointed. On my honor there had to be a train coming through this convergence of rails every 7 to 10 minutes. You could watch trains all day and we did, staying until about 3 pm. There are bathroom facilities in the park (yay!) And the dispatchers are broadcast via speaker in the little station style viewing area. The neighborhood surrounding the park needs a lot of attention as most houses seem ramshackle or abandoned zombies probably, in part, because of the constant rail traffic which I suspect makes it very hard to enjoy any peace and quiet. Nevertheless a must see for any railroad buffs.

Lots of parking. There are restrooms, benches and a covered area (for sun/drizzle). You can't see the signals well in any direction from the park. You can see the tracks in all directions. It's mainline action...we saw NS power, UP power and BNSF power and very long trains But not as much action as expected. Saw three trains in three hours
