We went here yesterday (Sept 30th 2023) and it was the most breathtaking drive up to the trailhead. Then as we were walking the trail up to the lake, we were blown away by the colours of the trees changing. Fall really is the most magical time of year in nature. The chipmunks were adorable too! So many of them are up by the lake. I've never seen one before so it was even more amazing for me. The only downfall is the parking lot at the trailhead. It's so small, maybe 40 parking spaces total and the line for the parking lot gets lengthy. You're best off getting there super early, like before 7am.

Really nice water shed lake above Brighton....go early...the lot was full at 9 am on a Saturday so we parked half a mile down the hill at the next trailhead and walked up....water is nice and cold perfect for a hot summer hike....as mentioned by others lots of bugs and flies so bring spray.....lots of yelling children by noon so we hope to go to the next lake one mile up the trail next.....trail is easy...gets a little more intermediate the last half mile....but overall a pretty simple hike in hike out....no dogs within 100 yards of the water even tho it seems lots of people break that rule

My sister and I had the privilege of being able to see Blood’s Lake at the first snowfall of the season. Apparently very rare to see the lake like this (because it is typically closed once it snows). It was absolutely BEAUTIFUL. I am sure they will close it soon because it was a bit slippery with the snow and ice trying to make it to the lake. SOOO worth it though. I felt like I was in a Christmas movie… UNREAL experience. Enjoy the pics!!
