⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Guardsmans Pass Overlook – A Must-See in the Wasatch!

This overlook is an absolute must if you’re visiting Park City or exploring the Wasatch Mountains. The views are jaw-dropping—lush green valleys, dense forests, and endless mountain peaks stretching into the horizon. It’s the kind of place that makes you stop, breathe deep, and just take it all in.

It’s easily accessible by car (though the road can be narrow and winding), and there’s enough space to pull off and enjoy the scenery safely. Great for a quick photo stop or as a starting point for longer hikes and bike rides along the Wasatch Crest Trail.

Pro tip: Go during golden hour or just after sunrise—pure magic. It’s open 24/7, so it’s also a serene stargazing spot if you’re up for a nighttime adventure.

Beautiful spot with access to some great trails but the parking and traffic situation is a disaster, people are so self absorbed and focused on not having to walk or ride an extra 100 yards that they just park halfway across the road then scamper off to bloods lake with Fido. Udot, salt lake, and Wasatch counties definitely could do some more work to make it better but a little situational awareness from everyone who parks up there would go a long way too. This isn't just a trailhead, it's a state highway people use to get to work and to drive into town to pickup a prescription or get groceries, just because you're up there to play doesn't make it okay for you to check your brain at the bottom...

This is such an incredible drive as knowing how it is covered in 20 or 30 feet of snow during much of the year, it’s a real treasure to be able to drive this back mountain pass between Park City and Little Cottonwood Canyon (Brighton & Snowbird, etc). The views are incredible. There are hikes just off the road, lakes and epic Mountain View’s which will take your breath away. You will find yourself at the top of some of the ski hills for dear valley and park city, and you won’t need a lift ticket !! If you’ve Ski’d these hills you know what an epic mountain vista is, but imagine the same with hills of evergreens and aspens and crisp cool mountain air to create a whole new...

It’s like being on top of the world once you climb the road up the mountain. The view is spectacular. HOWEVER, I did mark it off one star because there is no parking at Guardsman Pass Overlook. You literally cannot park anywhere. The only way to access the overlook itself is to park further down the road and walk along the road, or bicycle up the road. Kind of annoying. But you can still see the magnificent views from driving in your vehicle.
