For the past three years I have stayed here for the rutting season. The first two times were wonderful and memorable, this past time (2023) was a bit different. We accidently forgot to turn in our breakfast form (which we never had to do- front desk always did it for us), We tried to turn it in a little later and the night shift guy didnt even budge in his chair when we tried to turn it in. Said it was too late as he already put in the requests and that there was nothing he could do (this is the night prior for breakfast at 0800 the next morning) Ended up being a blessing in disguise as we got hot food in the dining hall. For our last morning we got food delivered to our room, it was cold, soggy and mediocre. BEFORE this year, my favorite part of the mornings were having a good breakfast delivered before taking on our daily hikes while there (parfait, scones, juice, water, coffee and different, TASTY meals each day) Last year they also OFFERED a complimentary drink for us since we have been reoccurring guests, didn't even get that sort of acknowledgment this time around. I don't know what happened, but the cost stayed the same or increased and quality of food and service has drastically decreased. We will most likely be staying elsewhere moving forward. I love the beautiful rooms, it's just not worth the price anymore if they are decreasing quality everywhere else. After looking at other reviews, this seems to be a common issue with the same type of feedback. Unfortunately, not expecting much more than - "Thank you so much for taking the time to provide us with a review! We are delighted to know you have enjoyed little getaways over the years at Della Terra! We are so sorry to hear you were disappointed with the breakfast experience! We truly care about your experience with us and we want to know we hear you when it comes to breakfast in bed being one of those magical pieces that Della Terra offered. We want to share an update with you that the complimentary breakfast in bed is back and will remain as a perk for anyone staying at the Chateau. Thank you for taking the time again ______ to share your feedback and we hope you see you again for a future romantic getaway!" Lack of empathy and care is not a great look and unfortunately it looks like that's the case here. Over the past few months, they have lost at least 3 reoccurring guests and I imagine it will continue until something changes. I appreciate the owners from the previous years and wish the new ones luck as this was an expensive disappointment.

My husband and I got married at Della Terra on October 3rd, 2023 and we could not have asked for a better place. I remember when we went to go tour Della Terra back in May of 2022 and dreaming and hoping we would pick this place to get married at. From that day forward, the staff at Della Terra have always been so responsive, sending out reminders for vendors, setting up one on one time to outline the whole wedding, addressing every question we sent them. We also fell in love with how beautiful the venue is surrounded by the Rocky Mountains. We were so happy that on the day of our wedding, we were able to hold the ceremony outside on a beautiful fall day. Huge shout out to our wedding coordinator, Anna, we absolutely love her and she truly is the best. She made us feel very special and wanted to make sure our day turned out perfect and magical (which it definitely did). On the day of our wedding, she made sure everything went perfectly and truly took care of us, our family, and guests. At the end of the night, she made sure our items were in our room and decorated our room with candles, rose petals, a bottle of champagne and some extra food. We cannot thank Anna enough for all that she did for us in making our day SO special and perfect! :) We also want to note that the other staff at Della Terra are so professional, friendly and provide exceptional service. Our family and guests all told us they really appreciated how amazing and caring the Della Terra staff are and that it truly stands out that they know how to make a wedding perfect. That is what also stood out to my husband and I when touring Della Terra, you can tell that the staff knows what they are doing and what is included in the venue is unbeatable. We highly recommend Della Terra for anyone looking for a wedding venue in the Rocky Mountains. Thank you so much to Anna and the whole staff at Della Terra for taking care of us and our guests during the whole wedding process and on our wedding day! We will definitely be back to visit on our anniversaries and are looking forward to being back up at this beautiful venue surrounded by amazing people!! Brittany & Jake Kruger

From the moment we booked our wedding at Della Terra to when we left the day after our wedding, Annie and the Della Terra Team went above and beyond to make our day special. They KNOW how to run a smooth wedding (seems like they basically do it every day) but they also take the time to make sure elements are unique to you as a couple. We love National Parks, which is the main reason why we chose Della Terra (because it is right at the entrance of RMNP), but if I had to go back and do it again, I would choose them over and over again for so many other reasons! The obvious: its hands down the most beautiful venue we looked at, with beautiful mountains and aspen trees on property. Don’t be surprised if you see bighorn sheep, Elk, and turkeys on site! We had all 3 on our wedding day which was SO fun! The hair and makeup getting ready area and the theater room cannot be beat. We had so much space to spread out and have a relaxing morning while getting ready, and the groomsmen really enjoyed the theater room before the wedding. Our planning meeting (about a month and a half before our wedding) was so extremely helpful, where we walked through every possible little detail of our day. Annie was always an email or phone call away for questions we had, and she really helped make our day special. We chose to plant a tree on site as a part of our unity ceremony and we are so excited to visit in the years to come. During our ceremony, a passing shower decided to occur. While this might be every bride's worst nightmare, I hardly even knew it was raining during the ceremony because the outdoor wooden structure can be closed and guests were all given clear umbrellas. Annie made sure to check in with us about bar totals (as requested) and kept everything running so smoothly! They even hand delivered my husband's jacket to our room after he left it in the reception hall after the wedding ended. Della Terra and Annie really handled every single detail, no matter how small, and are committed to giving you the wedding of your dreams. Thank you Annie and Della Terra from the bottom of our hearts for helping us have the most perfect wedding day.

Della Terra as a bed and breakfast has lost its soul.

My wife and I got married here in 2016. Everything from the wedding to the stay was incredible. We felt cared for and it seemed like every detail had been thought through. So much so that we have returned at least 5 times. The first few times were just as we remembered. Thoughtful, intentional, and truly 5 star. The last two times have been firmly in the 4 star or below category. Here was our thoughts from this last weekend.

The still good The grounds and location are beautiful The over the top showers are still great It’s nice to have a hot tub outside each room

The bad There is no acknowledgment of repeat guests or those who got married there. The first time we came back there was champagne and a handwritten note. The last two times it’s felt odd I even brought it up at check in. I don’t expect a gift every time, but it sure feels like a missed opportunity to not welcome people back to a such a boutique, supposedly 5 star B&B. A note doesn’t seem that difficult for a place with only 14 suites. All of the customer service no longer feels personal in the least bit. The breakfast is no longer anything special. It used to be a chef’s breakfast that changed every day. My wife has celiac and they would go above and beyond to accommodate with special pastries or changes. It was a strong reason staying there felt so special. I looked forward to every morning. Now it’s nothing you couldn’t get at any local diner. Worse is that the latte tasted like it came from a machine, they couldn’t even give real cream, and there was no ice water given. I guess it was just expected we would get our own for breakfast. On a similar note, it’s crazy to me that they don’t give at least 2 bottles of water in the fridge for each room. Worse yet, is that they try to nickel and dime you by charging $2 if you did want a bottle of water. Not a huge deal, but just doesn’t feel like the luxury the price would indicate. The Keurig was also disappointing. I’m sure they were there previous stays. But for the level Della Terra should be, it seems like upgrading to Nespresso machines would be an easy win. Once again though, feels like the cheap option is being taken here. Other amenities fall in this same category. The shower amenities are now from dispensers likely ordered from amazon and there is no ingredients list (we only care because of my wife’s celiac) or special branding for them. I don’t care about status, but it sure feels like for a place with only 14 suites they could offer something a little more elevated, maybe even locally sourced to promote a local maker. Instead, it feels like I’m getting the cheapest refills available. I’ve stayed at other 5 star places using the refillable dispensers and they still found a way to use quality and distinguished products. The only thing we could see any branding or ingredients on was the lotion left next to the sink. It also happened to be 75% used when we arrived. Everything above is things we felt could be changed without significant remodel or investment. Here’s the other things that could just be better: A knob fell off the shower while turning it on, easily put back on, but still. A hot tub jet was broken. The sink is unnecessarily flat and makes a mess when using it. The sheer number of light switches is too much. Having 3 lighting options like day, night, and off would more than suffice. The room ran hot at night. Neither the beds, nor the pillows are all that comfortable. The rest of the decor and furniture could desperately use an update.

We heard Della Terra had been sold several years back. You used to be able to feel the heart and care that was given to each guest and now it just feels like it is run like any other motel. It may even be that the new owners are comfortable with that, but I believe the prices should reflect that as well. I’m sure their events are still great, but it definitely no longer feels like a 5 star bed and breakfast. A real shame from what...

As I start this review, after the most magical and wonderful wedding ever, it is truly hard for me to articulate just how incredible Jessica and the Della Terra team is and the profound impact they have made on me during our wedding process. When I started looking for venues for our wedding, we visited some, who were all fantastic. But, the moment my husband and I stepped foot on the gorgeous grounds of Della Terra, we knew that this is where we would want our wedding to be. It is a gorgeous venue in every aspect. The outdoor ceremony site with the mountains in the background is memorable, the reception space is comfortable and beautiful, and the suites are top notch. I learned that planning a wedding by yourself is fun, but quite the task! Jessica Gibson was with me every step of the way and I cannot thank her enough!

When I was connected with Jessica as my day of coordinator, I was immediately drawn into her kindness that could be conveyed just through an email! Jessica demonstrated great kindness, compassion, expertise and a true sense of authenticity that captured my heart from the very beginning. I appreciate her consistent and prompt correspondence, whether through my many email or phone call, and all the answers she had to my many questions, all answered with a positive attitude and willingness to help

When we went up to Della Terra for our planning meetings, we were greeted with wonderful staff every time! Jessica, and the rest of the Wedgewood Team (Laurence, Hailey, Ashtyn, and more) were always so willing to help, even on a short notice or with any random request. Jessica was very organized and the plan made us feel at ease going into the wedding, knowing that the whole team had our back. She was also so helpful to bounce ideas off of, talk to, and was genuinely wonderful to be around. On my wedding day, I was so excited to see Jessica and the rest of the team. From the moment the day started (and even the days before), she was helpful, informative, organized, and it was clear that Jessica and her colleagues truly know what they are doing. It is not easy tasks to coordinate with all the vendors, make sure people are on time, help rehearse the ceremony, set up decor (it looked better than I could have ever imagined), and so many behind the scenes tasks, but Jessica and KC made it feel effortless. The day was seamless, thanks to the hard work and preparation of Jessica, KC, and the Della Terra Wedgewood team. They even had a printed picture of our ceremony and a congratulatory card when we sat down for dinner! Amazing!

The team was so professional, on time, was able to help any guest or bridal party member, and even accommodate last minute requests. And, wow, do they know how to run a wedding! It was perfect! The Della Terra team is efficient, knowledgeable, kind, and a joy to be around the morning of my wedding, making me feel confident and ready to take on the rest of the day!. Everyone around me was so impressed with their poise and kindness, making the day feel even better. Jessica demonstrated a genuine desire to make sure that every person she works with feels prepared and excited for their big day. I was touched with her constant “check in’s” just to see if I needed anything or had any questions.

The Della Terra team was flexible with timing, positive through every step of the way, and so talented in their work. I found that their genuine compassion, love for their art, and kindness made everyone, including me, feel at ease and we all had the best time from start to finish! Not only did Jessica feel like the day of coordinator ever, but she felt like a true friend and comfort to me on my wedding day. I cannot recommend Della Terra enough and am grateful for, not only their expert and fantastic venue and products, but also their genuine desire to make our day wonderful and their kindness through every step of the way. Thank you Della Terra, we are forever...

Della Terra is (and always will be!) such a special place to me and my husband.

My husband and I first visited Della Terra on a romantic winter getaway in January of 2012. I was looking for a special winter retreat to surprise him with. I searched through countless cabins, lodges, and of course, The Stanley Hotel's website. When I found Della Terra, I knew this is the place we HAD to go. The whole place looked amazing, from the two person soaking tubs to the themed rooms to the private hot tubs.

I will never forget when we first arrived at this magical place. Our flight (from St. Louis, MO) got in late to Denver. We arrived in Estes Park at Della Terra right before the front desk closed. Darrell was so nice and told us everything we needed to know about the Chateau, even though it was right before close.

When we walked into our room (The Passion) it was more romantic then I could have ever imagined. My husband and I had a wonderful trip in Estes and during our stay at Della Terra everyone was SO nice. On the second to last night of our trip, after a wonderful evening of watching movies in the Chateau's private theater room, my husband (then boyfriend) got down on one knee in our room and asked for my hand in marriage. It was one of the most amazing moments of my life. The beauty and ambiance of Della Terra only made it that much more romantic.

The next morning I was so excited to show off my ring. Everyone from the kitchen staff to the front desk staff was so sweet and congratulatory. We told everyone that we would be back FOR SURE for our wedding.

When we returned to Della Terra in November of 2012 for our planning meeting with Jamie, we were so impressed. Jamie was an absolute joy to work with. She ran us through all the planning steps, the linens, etc. She was so patient with us. At this time I was actually pregnant (!) and had to get up multiple times for bathroom breaks, but she didn't complain. She was so organized and made me feel completely at ease that all the details of our day would be carried out without a hitch.

My husband and I got married on a Wednesday and had less then 50 guest and we feel we got a FABULOUS deal. The pricing was so reasonable for everything that was included! Ceremony space, reception space, linens, flatware, glassware, complimentary suite the night before and night of the wedding, and personalized planning assistance before the wedding and a wedding coordinator the day of the wedding.

Our wedding day was Wednesday, June 12th, 2013. I felt like an absolute princess. I could NOT have gotten through my day without Jamie, she was a lifesaver! Anything I needed and she was there. Whether it was windex for our glass centerpieces, benedryl for my bridesmaid who accidentally ate some shrimp flatbread (and is allergic to shrimp), or getting me and my bridesmaids mimosas while we got ready. It was like having a day-of wedding planner. She was PHENOMENAL and everyone talked about how wonderful she was. :)

I walked down the aisle past a deer, a chipmunk tried to crash our wedding party photos, and a bunch of wild turkeys and three black bears wandered by Della Terra during my reception. If that is not a magical, Rocky Mountain Wedding, I don't know what is! My guests could not stop raving about how perfect everything was, from the setting to the architecture to all the little details. There is NO other place I would have rather had my wedding.

I even got to have my two dogs in my wedding and our 7 week old daughter was allowed to get ready with me in my chateau suite, even though children aren't normally allowed in the suites (to preserve the romantic ambiance of the Chateau).

My husband and I can not wait to celebrate our anniversaries here for years to come.

Oh and PS, the breakfast at Della Terra is TO DIE FOR and they bring it to your room...
