It can be a very overwhelming experience when going to Rocky Mountain National Park with no park experience. We first stopped at the Estes Park Visitor Center and left feeling highly disappointed so we did not know if this stop would be helpful. To our amazement Ms. Beth was phenomenal. I strongly considered paying top dollar for a tour because I was so overwhelmed and she patiently walked us through everything that she recommended according to our skill set and family. I quickly realized that we could do this on our own and I am so grateful that we did. If you are having any anxiety about entering the park, I can assure you the Fall River Visitor Center will put your mind at ease.

This visitor center is nicer than the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center at the other gate. There’s a souvenir store that is huge. This gate is also less busy than Beaver Meadows. The staff are nice. I came to get the passport stamp and the stamp is severely disappointing. It doesn’t even have the date on there which is pretty much the whole purpose. It only says 2021. I’ve been to several national parks during the pandemic and they’ve all been actually stamps or stickers of the actual dated stamps. I’ve included a photo of the Great Sand Dunes stamp that I got that was a sticker but it was still very well done. The one at RMNP is just pure laziness.

I visited today June 22, 2021 at 10 am. The reason I am noting this date and time is when I walked in, two women stared at me and said nothing so I thought maybe I should be wearing a mask. I asked them do I need to wear a mask and they rudely told me no if you're vaccinated! They then turned their back on me and continued their conversation which was talking about how bad their job is and how bad the people there are. There was no other customers in the building at this time but me. On a lighter note the entrance to the park is not as congested as at the Beaver Meadows entrance.

Very nice information center, gift shop and restaurant with a beautiful view. Ample parking and wheelchair accessible. Clean, nice restroom facilities as well. Food was very tasty. I had a grilled chicken breast sandwich that was very good. My husband had a hamburger and fries and he enjoyed it very much. The prices were reasonable and the portion sizes satisfying. The atmosphere is amazing and the waitstaff was very attentive and pleasant. We were eating lunch about 1:00 pm. No wait at all for a table. We were seated immediately and received our food, served nice and hot, in a timely manner. The info center and gift shops were also very nice, with very pleasant, helpful staff. I purchased several souvenirs and postcards there. They had a very nice selection of souvenirs and gifts ranging from the usual touristy things to interesting jewelry and upscale home decor. I would definitely suggest a visit and meal at...

Very nice visitor center. It is clean, clean restrooms, many informational displays of local wildlife, and helpful staff regarding the local area along with Rocky Mountain National Park. There's a rack of brochures for local attractions etc. There's also plenty of printed information, general maps, and trail maps regarding Rocky Mountain National Park - some free, some not. They also have tee shirts, sweatshirts and other souvenirs for sale. Their website is is also helpful. It shows alerts, has online maps of RMNP, weather info, and park fees and permits. It's a recommend stop before entering the park if you need a bathroom break, need information, or want a cool sweatshirt for the evening chill, or...

We actually did not go in here. We drove the Old Fall River Road on a sight seeing trip. Do not go on this road if heights make you uncomfortable. It is 7 to 9 miles winding up to nearly 12000 feet. The road is dirt, 1 narrow lane, 1 way. I am no shrinking violet, but at one point I was questioning my sanity as I looked out the driver's side window to the very abrupt drop below.

It was spectacular! We went from early afternoon sun to twilight in those few miles. Verdant green gave way to fall colors and led into snow and the sparsity of alpine tundra. Once on top we were in bright sunny winter and enjoyed our drive down on a modern wide winding paved highway. Beautiful ' but not as exciting! ...
