I live within close proximity (Las Vegas, NV) to the Grand Canyon West, and after talking about it here and there in the last 10 years, my family and I finally decided to hop in the truck to go see it.
Out of the three scenic points, Guano Point (GP) is by far my favorite of all the "points." Granted, I didn't get to experience Hualapai Point because of the time we arrived, but I can't imagine it topping GP. As you can probably gauge by the pictures, we visited during the colder months, 11 Jan 2024 to be exact, and it wasn't busy at all - go figure right? Personally, I'm glad we visited during the "winter" season because the amount of foot traffic was significantly less than it would be (and from what I've researched), during the summer. On top of visiting during the colder months, we also visited on a weekday which probably added to the lesser foot traffic. I suspect down the road, we'll make another trip here so we can complete the package tour.
My daughter and I enjoyed the walk at this location because the views are basically 180 degrees and it was quiet/serene. The tranquility of this location was probably due to the lesser foot traffic; regardless, I enjoyed it a lot. I will say that it was slightly nerve-racking to walk close to the cliff without any guard rails or partition protecting you from going over the edge. That's why I didn't go less than 5 feet from the edge - just not worth sacrificing safety.
I didn't purchase any food/drinks at this location so I have no feedback to provide in this department; however, I did notice the prices of the food/drinks and it's basically the same "overpriced" items you'd see at a stadium or an event. I do enjoy the fact that no one prevented my family from bringing in our own water, otherwise, I would've been irate! If you haven't been here before, I highly recommend visiting - don't take 10+ years to visit like I did...GP is definitely worth visiting! Take a lot of pictures and soak...

Be careful because there are no railings. Visit the remnants of a historic tram that once stretched 8,800 feet across the canyon to a guano mine. Dine right on the edge of the canyon .
Guano Point has a unique history, which you can read all about when you arrive. The venue is spectacular, and the views are literally breathtaking. Please note: There are no safety rails or ropes here, like there are at Eagle Point, so you’ll trek at your own risk. There’s also a couple of rock outcroppings to climb up, if you’re feeling more venturous; that will give you a nice rush…. There’s a bit of exhilaration here, even on the regular pathways.
Guano Point is another significant landmark in Grand Canyon West. Shaped sort of like a pyramid, Guano Point offers some of the most beautiful and wide-ranging views of the Canyon and the Colorado River. Step out to the tip of the point and enjoy nearly 360-degree perspectives.
The nearby Highpoint Hike is slightly rough, but the stellar views available along the trail make it worth the exertion.
History buffs will enjoy the option to explore an old aerial tramway that used to traverse the Canyon to reach a valuable guano mine in the early part of the twentieth century (guano was an important component in fertilizer). The tracks stretch nearly 9,000 feet across the expanse of the canyon, an impressive testament to early twentieth-century engineering. This historic mining operation was notoriously one of the most difficult and expensive mining endeavors in the first half of the twentieth century. The abandoned mine became a tourist attraction as early...
