Paint Mine Upper Parking Lot — Attraction in Four Corners States

The location is a bit of a drive, just north of Calhan. But totally worth it. Parking and park is free. Gravel trail around the park. Several parking lots. Needs more bathrooms. You can walk around, hit some of the trails. Great for families. You can get up close and personal to the beautiful rock formations. I would recommend bringing a picnic type lunch, but word to wise I only saw one...

Thus place is awesome, Be prepared to walk a few miles when visiting this Place. Located about 35 miles east of Colorado Springs in Calhan, Colorado off of Calhan Highway. Turn left on Paint mines Rd. & follow it to the Paint Mines. There is a Public restroom in the lower Parking lot. Good hiking trails, well-marked, fascinating colorful rock formation. I'd say prepare for it to be windy! You need water, sunscreen and proper shoes and clothes.
