An amazing day of skiing with PC Powder Cats. Quite possibly the best day of skiing I’ve ever had (and I have skied 62 years, including 1 year as a ski bum)! I’ll skip the superlatives (see other reviews) and will try to give you an idea of what to expect (and not to expect). You will ski untracked snow on every run. It won’t be knee deep unless you hit it just right. For us, it was in the 3”-9” range. But you will lay tracks on virgin snow on almost every turn. You will get more untracked skiing in one day than you will get in multiple seasons (trust me, I ski 50+ days/year) at a resort. The terrain is varied, can be challenging and is virtually unlimited. You’ll get trees and/or open bowels. It can get steep and the snow can get tricky. When I say unlimited terrain, imagine combining Park City & the new Deer Valley and this ranch is still bigger. This trip is not for intermediates or those hoping to learn to ski powder. If you cannot ski varied and difficult conditions, practice and come back another time. Otherwise you will just piss off your cat mates as they wait for you. We were fortunate to have excellent skiers/boarders in our cat. You should be in good physical skiing shape. We got 10 runs/8K vert. However, it felt like 25K vert at a resort at the end of the day. This trip ain’t for the casual weekend warrior. Each run varies in vertical (600’-1000’). By the end of the day, everyone was totally smoked. This is a first class operation. The guides (Thank you Shannon & PK) are total pros and are extremely knowledgeable about their ranch and are very friendly. Safety is their paramount concern. There’s coffee and food when you get there, a great lunch and snacks when you finish. The cats are Pisten Bully’s with comfortable cabins and cushioned seats. They have thought of everything to make the experience thoroughly enjoyable. Bottom line, this experience will make you rethink skiing at a resort. When resorts are charging you $300/day for a lift ticket so you can stand in lift lines, dodge other skiers on crowded slopes, and pay $20 for a burger, this trip is a veritable bargain. Several of my cat mates agreed that, after skiing with Powder Cats, resort skiing will never be viewed the same. I still can’t believe I have been skiing SLC for 25 years and never thought to try this. Given all. that, I am now plotting my return to PCPC, only this time, I will bring enough friends to rent a...
Read moreWhat a fabulous day (3/12/21)! Truly one of those amazing, memorable experiences that I'm sure I'll talk about for years. We were blessed with 8" of new snow on the afternoon before our day. We skied awesome terrain... Steep bowls, rolling gullies, spaced out trees, more. The views were also spectacular!
Jason and Meegan (our guides) made the experience so much fun. They were extremely knowledgeable and kept us safe. I felt very confident in them. They took us to areas that fit our group's skill level and what we had requested. The photographer was great too... She took excellent photos of all of us, her cost was very reasonable, and she was fun to be around. Lunch was tasty as well. Nothing impressive but just what you want...good food quick so you can hit the slopes again. Couldn't ask...
Read moreJust did a cat trip with PC Powdercats and it was an absolutely Epic Day of Skiing!Cat skiing obviously has some luck involved as far as weather and conditions but we nailed it!The Powdercats operation is first class and our guides were awesome! We got about 9-10 runs(dont remember exactly)but they were knee to waste deep turns on untracked pow!The only thing I would strongly recommend is if there is anyway to fill a full cat with you and your buddies it would be ideal as your pace and rhythm are based on the weakest skiers in the group so you can definatly lose a few runs waiting around. But that is unfortunatlly part of deal always,That being said, amazing day, amazing guides,AMAZING CAT OPERATION!Will be...
