Short uphill paved walk. We were able to talk to a forest ranger while we were there. You were able to see what a working fire tower looks like, from the outside. 😄 Still a great experience.

Beautiful view from the top where the fire tower is located! Definitely worth checking it out! Take your time going up the hill as it really isn’t too bad but it can be challenging for some!

A short walk up the hill from the parking area is Park Point Lookout. This station was built in 1939 by the CCC to monitor for fires. As it is located atop the highest point in Mesa Verde, it has a 360 degree view of the surrounding area and on clear days one can see more than 100 miles!
