This is hands down the best place to do a full geographic scan of the surrounding areas to the North, South, East, and West! There's a small but steep uphill walk from the parking lot to the actual viewpoint, but once you're there you'll be served views from every single direction! Highly recommend going in the late afternoon to catch a beautiful sunset! It's best saved for a final visit before you leave the park.

Definitely worth stopping here as this is the highest point of the park with the best views of the surroundings! Lots of great views on both sides and there are plenty of information on signs that tell you everything about this location! The hike up is mostly uphill but not too bad! Highly recommend it!

What a great lookout of the whole park. It's actually the highest point in Mesa Verde, and they use it for spotting fires. If you only see one overlook along this extremely windy road, go to this one. I recommend bringing binoculars and a great camera, the views are spectacular.

One of the best viewpoints of the Mesa Verde NP. It is located on the Mesa top ruins You can either do while going to the cliff place or Mesa top loop roads or while exiting the national park. It is the highest point in the park and gives panoramic views of the Mancos valley and the San Juan mountains. It also has the post for the park fire lookout since it is the highest point in the park. I highly recommend adding it to your to-do list in...

Beautiful views of the park. Super windy! A fun experience to include on your visit to Mesa Verde. Consider bringing a packed lunch so you can sit and nourish your belly while the incredible distances nourish your imagination. There are a couple picnic tables along one side of the walking path. You might want a paper weight for your napkins, though.

Easy parking and restrooms available. Short, sometimes unevenly paved/asphalt walking path...
