Peaceful, uncrowded park out in the country near Larkspur, Colorado. The drive there from metro Denver going down Perry Park Road from Sedalia is very scenic. Beautiful views of red rocks and rolling foothills. The trails are smooth and easy for the most part, except for a few more challenging sections. This park just opened last year so it is not widely known and therefore uncrowded. This was originally planned to be a housing development and I am so glad it was saved as open space. If you are into geology, this is a great park for seeing the Lyons formation, which is the red rocks plus the Lykins formation which is the white limestone to the east of it. Read moreThis is a beautiful area with far reaching views of the surrounding mountains beyond a varied landscape. Access for bikes and horses is available, and decent power chairs should have no problem on the rolling terrain in the southern section (we did not see the northern section yet) It is great that Douglas County bought out the developer before this area was going to be littered with houses and outbuildings.
