Staying at the lodge means it's very easy to drive here for a sunrise viewing. Just know that whatever time sunrise is supposed to be is based on when the sun breaks over the (non-visible) horizon. There's a mountain in your way 😑
For example, at check-in, I was given a sunrise time of 6:36. Got to Upper Inspiration Point with plenty of time to gasp for breath at the helpfully placed bench after the steep hike from the parking lot.
