Lake Powell is awesome natural and manmade wonder. The hotel itself had indifferent service at main counter bordering unfriendly. Room was fair and back patio was dirty. No WI Fi was available without walking to main office, a joke. Dining was limited due to covid but menus had much to be desired and over priced. Rental boat training was OK but limited and friendly. The return of boat staff crew were goof balls who thought it was funny stating " your propellor is shredded", har, har. Offered no help to senior guy exiting with cooler. Read moreThis viewpoint just off Lakeshore Drive provides for a much closer look from the western side of Lake Powell before reaching the Wahweap Marina. After turning off Lakeshore Drive, follow the road around a small rock outcrop to the viewing area parking lot. At the viewpoint, there is a small, covered pavilion with two park bench seats for enjoying the view out of the sun and is a great place to watch the sunrise over Lake Powell. Next to the pavilion there is an interpretive display with information about the area in front of you. Read moreIf you go to the Wahweap Viewpoint, you can see the view of the lake and marina for free. There are a couple of shaded structures as well. We took these photos on December 11, 2021 and the water level was pretty low.
I took one of these photos of the marina from Scorpion Place road just above the marina, but there's no location marker near the water, so I used this one.
