Cherries are so sweet . It is so worth to go picking cherries in June . Wood ladders are available but a little heavy and cumbersome to move around trying to pick the best cherries. I wish we bring to fruit pickers poles so I could pick big sweet cherries on high branches . It will save my time and effort to pick a lot of cherries to buy on site . Most important is it is much safer and faster to pick cherries without damaging the trees and waste small ripe cherries . Ladders can cause more injuries than standing on the ground . Therefore less injury insurance for nursery.. On june 20 2023 it was a little hot . I climbed the ladder trying to eat alot .just afraid to have stomach ache.. The cherries are kind of soft sweet on the plus side of sour . we manage to buy a few five pounds for myself and my wife at 4.25 a lb. I am not crazy about hot cherries . we come home and put in the refrigerator .the next morning I try a few cherries. The cherries now are cold and hardenned . It is heavenly good sweet sour and cold . it is much much better than the ones I bought from safeway harris teeter and lotte market , I feel deeply sorry I did not buy more. If you are hungry buy lunch at Boyer recommended the Apple Bin sandwich shop about 5 miles from Boyer. I love its cheese steak sandwich...
Read moreVisited Boyer's for apple picking with our two young sons -- 3rd year in a row. The experience of picking was good, but the checkout person was rude and ruined the experience for me. She said we overfilled the bags, yet there was no line on the bags saying don't go above, and are 5 extra apples really going to make or break an orchard! She also said we picked an apple that was not on the apple pick list, however we never received a paper or map saying only pick these apples; the apples looked ripe and our kids picked a few of them. Lastly, no "thank you" or smile after we spent over $100 on apples, mums, ice cream, tomatoes, etc. We'll be looking for another orchard next year as the same experience was had last year unfortunately, so it wasn't just a "bad" day for the staff. The gentleman handing out bags and instructions was very kind, and they do have a good selection of...
Read moreThe cashier was extremely rude! I ended up walking out without purchasing my items. We walked in and were greeted by a lady that was amazing. She took the time to explain to us how picking the apples out of the bins worked, the differences in the apples. She then told us to make sure we overfill the bag as the price includes as many as you can fit in a bag. On the way up to the register, I dropped one of the apples. I picked it up and put it back in my bag. The cashier yelled at me. Then charged me an extra $3 for overfilling my bag. I tried to explain that we were told too, she then yelled over top of me again. I am not going to support any business that treats its customers like that so we walked out and left. They really missed out because we had two trees set aside totaling $300 that we were also going to purchase while we were at the counter but she started yelling over 1...
