The Franklin Township Library is a fantastic place for anyone who loves learning and exploring new ideas. The collection is extensive, offering books, magazines, and digital resources on a wide variety of topics. The staff is always welcoming, knowledgeable, and ready to help with any questions. The study areas are quiet and comfortable, making it the perfect spot to focus or get work done. They also host wonderful community events and workshops for all ages, which makes the library more than just a place for books—it’s a hub for creativity and connection. Highly recommended for students, families, and anyone looking for a peaceful environment to read or work!

My daughter absolutely loves this library! It’s a safe, welcoming, and fun place filled with engaging activities for families. We especially look forward to Friday story time, where we dance and sing. Their book selection is vast and the staff are consistently kind and helpful. Do yourself a favor and visit.

If I could give this place NO STARS AT ALL I would. The front desk lady I just spoke to before I left today was very rude and condescending.

I was requesting help to get my library card number today. However, I didn't have my library card with me. In the past, the staff would request an ID card such as a driver license to show proof that it’s you when getting your library card number and they would write down your library card number so you could check out books, etc. When I explained that to the front dest staff she looked at me like I was crazy and explained they DO NOT DO THAT & NEVER HAVE.

I have lived in Somerset almost 20 years now and I have had a library card here since the library first opened. Unfortunately, today was one of those days I forgot to bring it with me because I was not expecting to come here. I wanted to make a quick stop to get some books for my kids and myself.

I asked and explained to the front desk lady (blond hair with a thick accent) that I just needed the number really quickly. I was very respectful and kind when speaking to the front desk, I did not raise my voice and spoke calmly. Next, I showed her my driver license and explained this was never an issue before for myself or any one else in my family. She told me to either pay $3 for a new library card or just leave. So I told her I will leave and I will NEVER COME BACK. Her response was Ok Good. She was sooo disrespectful and rude and because of her I will never come back there ever again. If this is how the staff there treats those who come in for help or assistance or just the general public then I would rather go to a different library who is much more helpful....

This is the only library that i have regularly attended since i was a child in the 90s. My recent visit was unfortunately bad. I went to the library last week with my friend because she wanted to fax some documents. After a couple of unsuccessful attempts, she decided to go to the desk nearest to the computers to ask for help. The woman who at first seemed to ignore her told her that she was too busy and that she should follow the instructions on the machine(which we already did). Seeing that the woman had no interest in helping, my friend asked the gentleman next to the woman who stated that he couldn't help her as well. Frustrated, my friend and i walked over to the front desk where a man and woman with colorful hair were working to ask for help. Once again she was told that there was nothing they could do because the machine was from a third party vendor. The problem was not with the machine, but that we did not know how to operate it despite the instructions(which we explained). Had one person helped us for 5 minutes the problem would have easily been resolved. We ended up leaving the library with terrible customer service and no...

We have been using this library for past years. We have been living in carteret, Sayreville, Piscataway , south bound brook different places and have been to all township libraries. ... This one is the best. They have nice reading programs, nice collection of books for kids. Amazing collection of movies for kids. We go every 3 days for books and once a week for movies. You renew at the right time or return you don't get charged. Anytime printer doesn't work for out of ink they have returned money if you show the print. I have got waivers for lost items . I love their summer programs Legos, coloring , crafts and lot of other things they do to keep ready. Yes the librarian excepts kids and toddlers to be quiet but I guess that's what the library is for... If you want your kids to run around make noise take them to playground. Teaching kids the right thing and excepting them to behave is perfectly okay with me. I have a 3 yr and 7 yr so I know my kids also want to play around. I...
