I have mixed emotions about Arrington Vineyards at this moment. Today, I was there with other people and we spent almost $500 on bottles of wine, flight tastings, and snacks. We were loving the atmosphere and the picnic tables. Even had some really good suggestions from employees on wines to taste and enjoy with different snacks. I even considered having my June birthday party at Arrigton Vineyard, until I met McKenzie (one of the managers).
We had an issue with the Antebellum White, the wine tasted off. Maybe a bad cork or just a bad bottle; we all know it happens! I ask the cashier about the bottle and she stated she would need to ask for the managers assistance. I was completely find with that! I get it! I told McKenzie the issue with the wine and all she could say was "The wine is uncorked. I cannot help you!" and "You should have asked for a sample of that particular bottle!" I did sample the Antebellum white with the flights my group purchased along with another bottle that tasted completely different. After the manger seem to have no concern with my issue I asked her to dispose of the wine, all I really wanted was a different bottle. Never did I ask or expect my money back.
I know we are in hard times and local businesses are struggling but poor customer service is not the way to treat a local. I feel denying a replacement for bottle of wine over a five hundred dollar check is a little extreme.
I live in Rockvale and would love to visit the vineyard more! The Encore port and Sweet Blue were amazing and I would purchase these items again if customer service over one bottle of bad wine was improved. I get people complain and you get tourist from all over the place but when someone says you product is off, please don't question $10 and try to make it right! Especially for the locals who will keep you open!
Please feel free to...
Read moreI am sharing a 2 star on this. Wines are tasty (but as you know plastic changes the flavor profile- everything is served in plastic). Unimpressed with the overall presentation. Pros: -Setting is beautiful -facilities are clean and kept. -golf cart will take you from the parking lot to the drop off location at the top of the hill. The lady that escorted us up was the sweetest.
Cons: no direction or personal service regarding the wine profiles just a laminated sheet showing what wines are in ea. flight. before you have tried a single sip of anything you are asked to join the wine club so you can get a discount at the register. -the flights are the same pour that you can pay for a sip of any wine for $1.50 -the flights are $16 for 4 (which makes it $4 per sip). Okay no big deal. -so we ordered our flights and our froses (which were delicious) bought things for us to snack on (cheeses, salami, pretzels, nut chips) and they charge $2.50 for a private labels bottle of water. Okay cool, grateful they have the options. -the kicker: Marie turns around the tablet after we pay & expects a tip (offering 15% 20% or 25% of the total tab) for punching in the order. I chose other & selected 10%, she flipped it back. I noticed quickly her attitude change. She expected more for I guess working the register. -no water igloos to refill your water bottles in 100* heat. This is complimentary around most other wineries. -golf carts running completely empty and did not stop as the passed by on a empty cart. If you are passing by you can show more hospitality but simply asking “ would you like a ride?” Give your guest the option rather they are coming up or going down- it’s just courtesy.
I hope that you just simple take these as suggestions. You truly have a great place and it can be polished with some minor...
Read moreWe absolutely loved this vineyard! At first we were surprised by the number of visitors to this winery. I thought that maybe they were having a special event because there were so many people and parking attendants were everywhere! But no, this is a regular occurance.
The winery itself is at the top of hill and for those of us who are not used to the heat of a Tennessee summer, the idea of walking up that hill was daunting! But... free shuttle carts to the rescue! The wait for the wine tasting was an hour and a half, but they offered "picnic wine tasting" for $14 which includes 4 generous samples of wine and some refreshments. Alas, the line to purchase the picnic sample was fairly long too, so we opted to choose a wine and purchase the bottle. That took all of 2 minutes to do! The sparkling wine we chose, "Bubbles" was delicious! Once we were all set with our wine and glasses, we headed over to the grassy area and grapevines. This really was special. You can walk all around this vineyard, anywhere, anytime they're open. I've never seen anything like it. We walked far enough away from other people and found a completely secluded spot with amazing views! Even if you choose to picnic with everyone else, you don't feel crowded because the area is so vast.
Arrington Vineyards is co-owned by Kix Brooks (Brooks and Dunn) and it feels like a country star just invited hundreds of his friends to his vineyards for a little wine and music. Live music in the afternoons (jazz by the main winery and bluegrass at the barn). The barn itself is special too. Wine tasting is also available there, but a line was formed here as well. We loved both areas and honestly if I lived in the area, I would come here every weekend! I cannot recommend this enough! It...
